Excellent food, but even better service! I was impressed by the waiter's and even the owner's attentiveness. I wish we lived closer to Baltimore so we could frequent this gem more.
For other potential customers- the car service was great, very convenient. We were picked up at our hotel. But there is parking at the restaurant too.
I can understand why this place is so popular. It was a great night, great food, and not stuffy like most high end places.
I was staying in Baltimore recently and at the hotel I was asking around for a nice place to have dinner. I was referred to Da Mimmo's. They send a car over to your hotel...Free of Charge! This was quite possibly the best meal I have ever had. They have live music by the bar. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Great food and great service. It's a little on the pricey side. But it is worth the experience. If you are ever in Baltimore go to this resturant. You will not be disappointed.
disappointing at best. our expectations were too high, I supposed.
We went to eat dinner with our kids and other two family members.
The waiter was knowledgeable about the food, when he explained it to us
he really,,,, made it sound very good!!!
The meal started with bread...... what a bread, it was probably part of a leftover loaf of bread that you buy at Walmart...
then came the appetizers, nothing out of the ordinary, calamari, bruschetas. Now my CARPACHO was probably the worst I have ever had. it tasted and looked like AGED SALAMI and my kids had COLOSSAL CRAB MEAT.
when i tasted it, it was no different than a lump of crab unseasoned that you can get in a can for $8 dollars at any grocery store. It was funny because these Crab meat was served in a bowl that contained a life fish. Then we had our main meals. I order their famous VEAL, which was ok....just ok . my wife order their CHELEAN BASS and according to her it was the best she ever had. I can't argue that...
My kids had their SPAGHETTI MEAT BALL, again.. it was descent. then we had a few drinks and my guests had their dinners as well, no comment about them.
After all was said and done, it cost us 500 dollars, yes......... !!!!!!!
To finalize. I like to try restaurants all the time, but DAMIMMOS was by far Overpriced and inconsistent food quality at their price range.
Now don't get me wrong, we were able to see pictures of famous people on the walls.....maybe that was the whole idea.
THE ATMOSPHERE WAS WONDERFUL AND THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD BUT THE WAITER WAS VERY RUDE. WE COULDN'T UNDERSTAND A WORD HE SAID AND WHEN HE WAS GIVING US THE SPECIALS HE DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT US. HE HAD A VERY BAD ATTITUDE. HE SEEMED TO GET VERY PISSED OFF WHEN WE SAID WE DIDN'T WANT TO ORDER A BOTTLE OF WINE. THEN THE ATTITUDE STARTED.
Ive been to many Italian restaurants. Da Mimmo is one of the better ones. Food is pricey but very good and large portions. Atmosphere is dark and intimate (not a bad thing in my opinion). Service was perfect. Complimentary limo service.... Have been probably half a dozen times, and NEVER experienced any problems or rudeness.
Our bill came to $100 for two with appetizer, meal, one drink and dessert. So this is a little pricey for my tastes, but it was wonderful service. I loved my dessert, a piece of cake called The Dark Side of the Moon. The atmosphere is very romantic, white tableclothes, candles, and Franks Sinatra on the speakers.
My husband and I had our first wedding anniversary at DiMimmo's because we heard such good things about the restaurant.
We had a nice dinner, from what we thought and then two hours after eating, my husband developed food poisioning. Apparently the lobster he ate was bad. I called DiMimmo's the next day to speak to the manager of the restaurant letting him know of our experience. I never received an apology . . nothing! In short, our experience was horrible and we will never go back!
