Located in the heart of Baltimore"s famous Little Italy, Sabatino's has been serving Baltimore locals and tourists delicious Central and Southern Italian fare for over 50 years! Whether you're out for an intimate dinner for two, a family gathering, or hosting a larger group in a Private Dining Room, Sabatino's gives you the ambiance you're after. Sabatino's has been consistently voted the People's Choice for Best Italian Restaurant and recently received the Editor's Choice for Best Italian Restaurant by the Baltimore City Paper. "Consistency and integrity are what drove us to give Sabatino's the Best Italian nod... This is Italian without apology: Tongue-tingling Penne and Vodka Sauce; Veal Florentino avalanched in dreamy cheeses; piquant scalloppines, and crisp-baked parmigianas - This is the real deal, served in an environment (a row house int he heart of Little Italy) that's as honest as the food. Join us for lunch, dinner, or late-night dining! Buon Appetito!!!
I have been going to this place for years, and people tell me all the time how much they hate this place, but they are wrong. If you are loking for fancy then this place is not for you. This is OLD SCHOOL ITALIAN and I love it. This is what Little Italy is all about. Don't go crazy just order the BookMaker Salad and you will be hooked. Warning - this place GETS BUSY especially since they are open late. There are probaley better resturants in the area but this is a keeper in my book.
Service was friendly, but the food was horrible. The pot of Ragu sauce was poured into my pasta plate and the chicken was inedible. This puts Italian food to shame. My family and I were so disappointed that we wanted to experience real authentic Italian food in Little Italy and instead got garbage for food. I could not believe that they serve butter with cold bread and when you ask for oil, forget about getting olive oil, the oil was almost white in color you can see your reflection.
I have been going to Sab's ever since I was a little girl. It is family owned which gives it a cozy, friendly atmosphere. It is like sitting in on a sunday family pasta dinner. the garlic bread is to die for!! My favorite dish is pan fried shrimp parm. I have always gotten a great meal, great service, and delicious food!!
Went here for a banquet, was thoroughly disappointed. Ordered some sort of chicken pasta in a red sauce - The chicken was in big chunks and offered very little in the flavor department and the sauce was forgettable, both tasted and looked as though it were straight out of a jar. For dessert we were given a sort of rum ice cream/cake which was disgusting, tasted and smelled almost like straight liquor. If you're looking for a nice meal in Little Italy, this is not the place. The only other place I've been was Veleggia's and it was much better.
This was the worst dining experience. We were expecting a place with character in Little Itlay section of Balitmore, and were expecting authentic, yummy Italian food. Sabatino's offered niether of this. Sabatino's is a cafeteria style hustle and bussle restaraunt with fair food. The salad was good, but the bread was cold. I ordered shrimp juan with a white wine butter suace and my boyfriend ordered calamari marinara. This is the first restaraunt I have ever ate at that they bring the dinner entree out without pasta. For $22 I had 7 shrimp on a plate with what tasted like brown gravy????? My boyfriend had a plate full of calamari rings with red sauce. I gues we should of not assumed the entree would come with pasta, but for $22 eac, give us something? Experience was not good and we wish we could of enjoyed Little Italy (as we had in Chicago and in New York). Good Luck......
AVOID ! This is the first time that I am writing a review. I felt compelled to write about this restaraunt. This place was extremely crowded, waitresses yelling over our heads, very loud, food was out of a box. This was the most disapointing dining experience I have ever had. Halfway through the meal I noticided that there werent many Italians eating there. It is a tourist trap. I ordered calamari with red sauce. It was loops in red sauce and thats it. No pasta with either entree. My date ordered shrimp juan. It was four shrimps in brown gravy. HORRIBLE !
