Description

Whitewashed brick walls, white tablecloths and soft lighting lend a serene touch to this cozy labyrinth of subterranean dining rooms. Brightly colored Spanish pottery adorns the walls and most of the tables in the form of Sangria pitchers. Generously portioned, exquisitely presented entrees range from juicy sole sauteA(C)d with bananas and covered in hollandaise sauce to veal medallions simmered in a sweet, creamy port sauce. Tio Pepe's filet mignon is 3 inches thick, served with a savory bearnaise sauce and accompanied by delicious side items. The star of the show is the paella a la Valenciana para dos (for two), an authentic Spanish dish with chunks of lobster, shrimp, mussels, clams, veal, chorizo and chicken in fragrant saffron rice. Try the popular pine nut cake-roll for dessert, one of several lighter-than-air, whipped cream-based concoctions.

Very disappointing meal, rushed service and very cramped quarters. Food was acceptable, but not good value for what we got. With so many other choices of good restaurants in Baltimore, why take a chance here.

LOVE,LOVE, LOVE IT!!! The only drawback is the location. I don't usually go to the city at night. Sorry Tio's. Maybe one day I will come downtown for lunch. The other problem I have is with the parking.

There was nothing about going here that my wife or I enjoyed. The food had a typical uniform taste of spicing that we did not like. There was a wait to get it. I remember I didn't like the ambiance either. We won't be back.

My family has been going there for about 30 years. i used to dread the thought of having to dress us and go to a fancy place like tio pepe's. But now i go every year with my mom, brother and grandmother for mother's day and i try somthing new everytime!

Alright, if you have to live in this godforsaken city which is in this godforsaken state this is the first place I automatically recommend. Consistency is the key here. I've been going to this place for 30 years and the meals are consistently excellent everytime. I highly recommend the white sangrea and the Paella is to die for! You MUST get the pie nut cake (if you can't eat it there take it home...it's GREAT cold). I've never had a bad experience here... except for the occasional snooty waiter but don't let that deter you. There's cooler places around and triender but this place is a must. Now about that 6% sales tax Gov. O'Malley...

Like Nothing Else

Tio Pepe's is one of hte greatest resturaunts in baltimore! The food is amazing, wait staff at your every beckon call. Going for birthdays and partys is just a great reason to go there! Dinner should be shrimp in garlic sauce. Definitely try the red sangria, you wont find any better! Either the fish in parchment or soft shell crabs are more than sufficient for dinner! the crabs are huge and you get great portions, 3 crabs! you can never go wrong with the pine nut roll for dessert!

YUMMY!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/5/07
Our family has been going here for over 30 years! It is tradition to celebrate my Dad, Brothers and my bday (all dates in Feb & March) with my Mom of course here each year. My boyfriend came last night with us and he said it it was the best food he ever ate! Just talking about it makes my mouth water. Secret: ask for the potato puffs! Enjoy! Cheerz! Amanda :)

The most Romantic Resturant in Maryland.

I LOVE this place. It was like being transported to Spain. The staff was warm and friendly, the ambiance was perfect and the food was wonderful! I would recommend the Paella for two, with White Sangria.
