Fall from grace
We visited Mumbai in February 2006 and made a point of visiting Indigo as it had been recommended by friends of ours who had lived in Mumbai, and also by the staff in the local office. We found the food to be superb, service excellent and ambience terrific.
We returned to Mumbai in June 2007 on holiday and looked forward to returning to Indigo to sample the restaurant again. Sadly, the hype has now consumed the product. The menu had not changed, but the delivery by staff was appalling, the food was microwaved, the wine list was depleted (we managed to get our 5th choice) and the ambience was teenage Mumbai on steroids.
If you want an excellent dining experience in Mumbai you would be much better served trying one of the excellent restaurants in the nearby Taj Hotel where we stayed. Actually on a par with Indigo pricewise, but much superior from a delivery, ambience and food quality perspective.
