WARNING TO ALL BANDS and PRODUCTION COMPANIES!!!!! Use your own discretion when working with CATAMARANS in Solomon's Island. We (THE CRAZE ) played there this past Saturday and they did NOT PAY US. They agreed to the price and PAID US NOTHING!!!! They said they would pay us Sunday, but didn't then Monday and didn't. Then they called me and told me to come pick up the money on Tuesday and still didn't pay us. The point of contact they gave me claimed he didn't know anything about it. PLEASE SHOW SOME SUPPORT AND REPOST
Too bad there's not an option for zero stars! Wow! What a disappointment! Looking to top off a great day with a waterfront dining experience at a restaurant affiliated with a celebrity chef. Complete and total flop! Robert Hesse I don't know if you've ever set foot in this place, but my advice would be to get your name off of it.
To start with we sat inside and it was musty and dirty, the staff was sloppy and unkempt, and the bathrooms were nasty. An hour and a half later we had two waters (served in Solo plastic cups), one $7 martini (straight grocery store pre-mix, void of any evidence of alcohol), one salad, and a lame-attempt-at-a-copycat bang-bang shrimp appetizer that was inedible unless you like the taste of uncooked dough. We cancelled our entrees and left.
We got there when the AC was broken so we had to eat on the second floor. Very cafeteria like up there but a spectacular view. The staff was friendly, Robert was there but he doesn't talk. Just nods his head. I don't blame him. We had the Steak and Crab Cakes dinner and the Ramsey Fish and Chips. The crab cakes were very good. The steak, they said was a petite sirloin but it melted in the mouth like a beautiful piece of fillet Mignon. The sauce was a real Demi-glace, delicious and something rare in Southern Maryland restaurants. The steak and crab really surprised me, I wasn't expecting that level of professionalism so far from the city and at such a reasonable price. The fish and chips were good to me. It was made with plaice I think instead of cod so it was breaded rather than beer battered. My wife, who is British, said it was excellent and what she was used to.
I was there this morning, 6/20/2010. There was not any champagne, no unsweetened tea and no biscuits. It took over 40 minutes to get the food after the order was placed.
I will NEVER darken that doorway or table again!!!
After a hour of taking pictures of our daughter in her prom dress, we saw Chef Rob standing outside, so we said lets eat here at Catamarans. The crabcakes were horrible. they had not one bit of taste to them, our table was so uneven that I haid to put my foot under one leg of it.You would think a person paying the prices they are asking for will have better tables. After we got home both my wife and I did not feel that good and we both had the crab cakes.
As I sit here thinking about the dinner I just ate I want to vomit. The food was terrible and on my very expensive crab sandwich I got 1 small sized tomato, I think it took one bite to eat it and I eat really slow. The service was horrible and I am still angry I even left a tip. In this time of financial troubles who wants to go spend a bunch of money on really crappy food with really crappy service. Please I beg you DO NOT go to this restaurant.
