Service is fabulous and decor is very interesting. Food is good. I enjoyed the warm towel before dinner and the sherbet afterwards. Some items are a little greasier than I like but better than most Chinese restaurants nearby. Would go back again.
Grace's seems to have nice decor, but my brother and I had a bad experience from their carry out. The egg rolls they sent were inedible as they were burnt to a crisp and sitting in a wax paper bag that had close to a half inch of brown grease pool at the bottom. They also gave us one price over the phone and a higher one when we arrived to pick it up. Most Chinese lunches provide entrees for under $8 at lunchtime. We were charged $13.95 for an incredibly small serving of General Tso's Chicken that tasted like it could have been cooked in the microwave.
I know the decor is not as nice, but I will take China Chef (which is in the plaza across the street) anyday over Grace's carryout.
Grace's Fortune Restaurant is delicious. The food is the best my and I family have tasted since moving to Bowie from Toronto. It reminds me of China Town in Toronto. Excellent!! : ) I would recommend Grace's Fortune Restaurant to friends who are looking for authentic Chinese food.
This was my first visit and I have to say that I was overwhelmed. The atmosphere is so elegant. The service was excellent, and the servers are very friendly. I recommend the Curry Shrimp and Grace's Fabulous Crabcakes. I give Grace's 5 stars.
Grace's Fortune is a great place for dates, formal and romantic dinner, and special occasions. The restaurant has a spectacular ambiance with a fishpond, colorful Oriental decor, and piano player. Good food and service, but you'll pay the price.
We have been living in Bowie for 7 years now and Grace's is the place to go. Not only they first location but also their new location in Glendale, MD. Grace's represents all that we love in a restaurant and more!
I have never had a mediocre meal, or even experience at Grace's. In fact, I grew up learning to eat Chinese food. My mother remembers when Grace herself served me my first plate of Chinese food. The service is excellent and the ambiance is fabulous.
I love Chinese food and am very particular about where I eat. But after hearing so many rave reviews about Grace Fortune I decided to try it. I have to admit I was somewhat disappointed. The Crab Spring rolls and Beef egg rolls were very good. The Tempura Shrimp was greasy and overbattered. The General Tso's shrimp was good, but the portion was small (I've had better at Hunan Manor in Silver Spring/white Oak)The Fried rice was average with way too many peas. The next day as I was warming up my leftovers and pulling all the red chile peppers out of my General Tso's Shrimp I found a BIg DEAD ROACH in the TAKE-OUT BOX WITH MY FOOD. Now granted I don't think the Roach was served to me with my food (At least I hope not), but I do think it was probably in one of the red and white chinese take-out cartons, but UNDENIABLY GROSS and enough to make me vomit. OK FOOD and ROACHES You decide! I'll stick to King King in Hyattsville (Good for take-out EXCELLENT FRIED RICE, Hunan Manor in White Oak, and the very commercial PFChangs, but Grace Fortune Never again.
