Worst dining experience ever, We haven t been to Morton s in a while and decided to go there for our anniversary. We got there ordered our drinks and didn t see our waiter again until after I got up and asked the check in station where he went. About 20 min later he showed up with the wrong drinks, and still had not taken our order. That was it, we just got up and walked out. Went to Clyde s instead. At least we know they have great service, and for about half the price. I ll never go back there again. Pass the word around.
I took a group of people from work to this restaurant. What a mistake. The service was awful. We had to ask for wine about three times before we received it. The food was cold. The steak was not served as ordered. The server was unable to make suggestions.
I mentioned this awful experience to the hostess upon leaving. She could not care less.
This is our third time here for New Years's Eve. First time was in time for midnight and it was spectuacular-service, food, party hats and noise makers, free glass of champagne at midnight. Next time we went early-still very good. This year was really special. Midnight marked my 55th birthday and retirement for over 31 years of teaching in this area. No hats or noise makers for us-other people managed to get these things, no free glass of champagne at midnight like our first time, asparagus that was so huge you could could choke on it, hollandaise sauce tasted like it came from a package, mediocre steak, great dessert, but no plates to eat it on. Whoever is in charge, know that I have lived in this area for over 23 years. My family relative was the project manager of the Reston Town Center. You have let me down, and since I live in this community I will not forget this very disappointing evening at Morton's Steak House. In my free time-now that I am retiring from teaching in FCPS after 32 years there will be plenty of local people that I can pass on my review of Morton's to. Being a highly respected community member and teacher, I have no doubt that people will listen! Good-bye retirement money spent at Morton's. Want something special? Go to L'Auberge Chez Francoise in Great Falls. They will treat you to enchanting gourmet dining from start to finish!!!!
Who in the WORLD is the chef now for the Reston Morton's?
Took a close friend for lunch recently after a funeral. The ONLY good aspect of the experience was the wait-staff person, Amy.
We split a double filet, and it was ordered medium-rare, for me, and medium for my friend. Amy checked with the chef, since they were not busy, to see if he could accomodate us.
She cheerfully arrived back at table and said no problem.
It arrived (BOTH pices) so RAW it was purple, and neither of us could eat it.
The 3 or so pound lobster that we split arrived with the roe nicely intact, but also with the DISGUSTING intestinal tract still in place.
The creamed spinach was cold and the spinach was not even chewable. It tasted like it was raw. Needless to say, that went uneaten, also.
And lastly, the so-called wonder dessert, the chocolate cake with the melted chocolate center, that supposedly had to be ordered when you order your entrees, tasted like it had been reheated from a week ago. There was nothing melted about this dessert or special. Bland and dry.
I have never been so embarassed and disappointed in my life.
Oh, the bread and bottled water were great.
All this, for just under 300 dollars, including the tip, for lunch and two drinks, one capuccino.
