Was there for lunch yesterday after not having been there for years. It was clean; I looked around. The waiter was super friendly and the place was packed for lunch. My soup was good and they steamed my veggies as a special request.
I'd go back.
We LOVE the Ashton Diner. We moved to this area in 08 and could not seem to find good food. We finally stumbled upon Ashton and it is wonderful. The breakfast is delicious, I love the french toast especially. We go to the Sunday buffet every weekend and it is excellent, food is always fresh and the omelette bar is awesome.
We have also been for lunch and dinner and the burgers and fries are very good. Even the enchiladas are delicious. My husband likes the breakfast burrito but likes to substitute hashbrowns for homefries.
We always sit in Paula's section. She is the best waitress I have ever come by. She is quirky and fun and we warmed up to her right away. She is always right on top of her tables with refills, extra napkins and anything else we may need. Certainly no other restaurants in town have such a great waitress.
I would recommend to anyone.
I have been going here for over 2 years and have never had a bad meal. It is a little pricey for a diner as someone else had commented. I had their quesadilla dinner and have to admit it was better than Casa Chimayo or Don Pablos. Very clean with good service. They offer online coupons so my husband and I usually get our second entree for free. They have a Sunday breakfast buffet also. We have seen it and it looks pretty good.
This is my family's favorite local restaurant. The food is always excellent, and the staff is terrific. There's something wonderful about going to a restaurant where the host and staff recognize you, and greet you like friends. Try the Greek Dolmades, the crabcakes,or a slice of their award-winning cheesecake. The daily soup special is always tasty, but if you can resist, the salads are fresh and crisp. The Sunday morning breakfast buffet is also a must-do. They have everything from fresh fruit to eggs benedict to fried plantains and made-to-order omelets. Any time we meet someone new to town, we tell them about Ashton. We love it.
I have always likes diners but the Ashton Avenue Diner is a gem. It is a small place in an unprepossing strip shopping center but the interior is nicely decorated, the food very good and the service excellent.
I had the Wednesday dinner special, pork chops, roasted potatoes, vegetables and garlic bread. The pork chops were a little dry but very well seasoned. The potatoes were very good. The vegetable was sliced carrots and broccoli and the broccoli was not overcooked! To top it off the garlic bread was a garlic biscuit, a nice touch.
The special included soup or salad. I had the soup of the day which was beef vegetable noodle. Superb!
The Ashton Avenue diner offers Greek, Italian, American and Tex-Mex food. Go and enjoy.
After reading other's reviews on Yahoo! local, I decided to give it a go. My wife and I visited on a Friday night. It was busy, but not crowded. The restaurant is bright, clean and leaves you feeling good as soon as you walk in the door.
The service was good, the food was good and the price was just a bit expensive for a diner. Since this was my first and only visit, I hesitate to be too critical, but I did leave there hoping the food would be better than it was. I am not saying it was bad by any means. It just did not live up to what I expected after reading other reviews. All in all, I plan to go back and see if the place grows on me. I do not see it becoming one of my all-time favorites, but do think it has potential to be a good alternative to the mainstream chain restaurants. Think of it this way... when you just can't decide where you want to eat but know you want a variety of good food, this may be the place to go. I encourage you to try it for yourself.
