Since 1999, Chef Wiedmaier infuses his Belgian heritage into Marcel's elegant haute French flagship restaurant. Regularly topping the best-of-lists in the nation's capital, in 2011 and 2012, it was rated the top restaurant for food by Zagat as well as one of the top five restaurants for service.
Admittedly we never got to experience the goodness of Marcel's cuisine. However, i would suggest major improvement on the ways maître d handles phone calls.
Literally got laughed at trying to make a last minute reservation on an off-chance.
Bad tone, poor taste, no class. Which i'm sure would leave poor taste in your mouth, no matter the food quality. DC has a few great French restaurants to offer, no need to spoil your dish with a side of one awful attitude.
Marcel's had incredible service and the food was unbelievably good. My husband took me there for my birthday and then we went to the Kennedy Center for a show. Marcel's has an option of dining which includes dinner, a ride to the Kennedy Center, and then you can come back after the show for dessert! It was great!
When I first experienced Marcels I was so impressed with everything. My brother had been there several times and couldn't wait to take me when I came to visit. The food is absolutely wonderful. excellent service. Everyone had something different and each entree was out of this world. Try it you won't be disappointed!!!!
