Serving up the freshest seafood the ocean has to offer, the Oceanaire has been voted as San Diego's best seafood restaurant. With an interior reminiscent of a 1930s ocean liner, guests can comfortably savor more than 25 varieties of fresh fish from around the world. Featuring a fresh oyster bar and private dining room in addition to the comfortable, yet intimate main dining room, this is a great place to go with friends, on a date or for special occasions. The sashimi is excellent as well as the signature cocktails such as the trixi tini.

We came down to the SD Gas Lamp for a B'day weekend. Had a great time!!. Unfortunately the dinner at Oceanaire was very poor overall. We had great oysters, nice wine and a good salad, but the service was poor at best. We were constantly having to flag someone down. The entre was a disater for both. Too salty and over seasoned. It is supposed to be about the seafood. It was so bad we took one bite and sent it back. We ended up going to another placee for dinner. This is the first time we have ever had this happen so it isn't like we are nut cases. Brian needs to visit more often and see what they are making. Top Chef - not at this place.

Best seafood in San Diego, hands down!!!
By Ple, 11/04/08
I've been to just about every upscale restaurant in San Diego over the past couple of years and this is by far the best! The crab cakes are to die for, the oyster bar has a great selection of outstanding oysters, the wine list is relatively inexpensive, the service is impeccable, the decor is easy on the eyes, and every entree that comes out of the kitchen is prepared to perfection. Oh, and don't forget to order a baked Alaska!

Seafood worth every penny!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/18/06
Not every great restaurant has to be a steak house. My boyfriend and I always thought that nothing is better than a steak house until we went to Oceanaire. We’ve had a great experience every time we’ve dined at Oceanaire. The staff is so nice and their service is outstanding. We’ve already recommended this place to all our friends. Those that tried it thanked us. We always look forward to their crab cake appetizer. Please try it. Their menu changes because they only serve fresh seafood. So every time we’ve gone we’ve tried something new. So far we’ve had halibut, scallops, mahi-mahi and lobster. All of it was so good! Oceanaire is worth every penny.
