Conveniently located in the heart of historic Georgetown, we have been a local and international favorite since 1984. Serving some of the best Italian fares in a very comfortable atmosphere. Our moderately priced menu offers a variety of veal, seafood, and pasta and served by knowledgeable, courteous staff. Paper Moon is able to take private parties of up to 250. Please contact the restaurant for inquiries on private parties.
The food at Paper Moon is consistently fresh and well prepared. The insalata di arugula with parmesan and apples makes a light but filling lunch. For dinner, when the restaurant is less crowded, I prefer the pastas. The ravioli ai procini is rich without being heavy, and the penne alla vodka is a far cry from the one-dimensional dish found in most Italian restaurants. Service is relaxed but attentive, and the music opts more towards Bob Marley than Frank Sinatra. Highly recommended.
This place was absolutely divine. My husband and I went twice both were birthday occasions. We recieved excellent service from the moment we walked through the door. Our waiter helped us to choose our wine, the salmon was to die for and my husband a picky food man loved the lamb. I have recommended this location to everyone we know. Its a beautiful spot with exqusite food. check it out its worth it. =oD
Get out your organ grinders and train your monkey cause if you're looking for a decor consisting of nothing but Italian stereotypes, you have to include this stable, dependable Georgetown joint on your list. The food is quite fresh and attention to detail is paid pretty consistently. My most fav dish is the insalata di pesce fresco. A delicious salad with fresh tossed grilled calamari. Better accompanied by a nice glass of wine of course. Come early on a warm spring day and snag a sidewalk table for some good food and people watching extraordinaire. even though is not located right off M street. If you're a night owl. once the dinner rush is over (11ish), they bring a dj out and let the crowd dance away all those carbs. Evening sightings include fashion divas excourted by bronzed muscle boys from their own private limos. tzt tz la vita e' bella.
I went there on whim and the food was excellent. The service was great however the help had very thick accents which made it hard when they were explainining something. Aside from that everything was perfect. I had chicken stuffed with spinach and crabmeat in a mustard sauce and it was DELICIOUS as was the spaghetti. There were many things to choose on the menu and the ambiance of the restaraunt was great. It was filling and satisfying. I will definetely be back.
Went to Paper Moon for the first time over the weekend on a dinner date. Very nice staff, the service was excellent. Our waiter was probably between 18 and 21 years old, but he was terrific, attentive without being intrusive. The stuffed mushroom caps and calamari were great. The calamari was tender, not chewy nor over battered. I ordered a salmon special that was served over herbed mashed potatos with asparagus. The presentation was beautiful, the taste was wonderful, my only complaint was it could have been a bit warmer. My dinner companion ordered Lasagna. The serving was huge and he said it tasted great. I really liked the atmosphere. It has a casual elegance that lends itself to either casual to casual dressy attire. Excellent place for a dinner date or a small group.
..because I will be returning. Very nice restaraunt with a tremendously effective atmosphere and the staff ain't hard to look at either. The food is very good and on Saturdays at 10:30 they move the tables back and open up the place to create a whole new ambiance, great idea. Visit this place ready for a great evening.
