Sunday brunch here was excellent. It is a good sign when you walk in without an appetite but end up enjoying every bite. We had the duck hash and eggs benedict with crab. Both were unique and excellent. The service was fine and the little porch dining area was quaint without feeling tight. Best meal we had during our 4 days in Rehoboth Beach.
The description of this restaurant is wrong. It's not a Victorian cottage; it's a Sears kit house. (If you don't know what that is, look it up.) We've been here for dinner a number of times. The last time we went with several friends; none of them had been here before. They were all very enthusiastic, and I know at least one couple has made a return visit.
The food is excellent and not the same old-same old. I had ostrich steak for the first (and probably last) time at the Blue Moon. We've never had a disappointing meal. The prices are high, but you should expect that in any upscale resort restaurant. The signature dessert Moon Pie is beyond decadent. I'm ashamed to admit my husband and I Ate The Whole Thing!
Some of the tables are a bit cramped (esp on the porch, but the view compensates). The restrooms have to be post-Sears model but not by much.
It also had the advantage of being open year-round. Many of Rehoboth's restaurants close off-season, but the Blue Moon is an exception.
Definitely worth a visit.
the blue moon has managed not to faulter over the years......the restaraunt is superb....and wellthe bar side has always been a meat market it always has been and always will be also the posers that just stand around and want to be seen usually the 20something set get boring after a short while....its ok
A beautiful experience all around. We were a bit concerned after reading the reviews here, but have to disagree with all of the negative comments. My wife and I had a lovely evening. We eat out all over the country and this was one of the most enjoyable experiences we've had this summer. The place was busy but didn't feel stuffy at all (they recently remodeled). The service was attentive and professional without being snobbish. The wine list had a wide range of options from $26-$250; if someone can't find something here they might as well not order. They have a new chef who created stunning, refined dishes (again with a variety to please many palettes). Nevermind the naysayers, this place deserves its great reputation!
Incredibly bad, TERRIBLE! Loud, unconfortable, waiter was NEVER there when we needed him, just bad service over all, honestly, save your money and frustration. I hope the owners change this place 180 deg, you guys need a new direction!
Way over priced for the quality of the food that is served. My wife and I have eaten at many of Rehoboth's finest restaurant and the
Blue Moon does not compare to others in this town. The server was professional but maybe a little on the aloof side. The decor needs to be updated. The wine list was lacking as well. Desserts were average at best.
Overpriced food and drinks, more attitudes than Studio 54 in the 70's, this place is one of the worst experiences I've ever had in my gay travels. In fact, all of Rehoboth Beach has their head up their rears and it is the most unfriendly place I've ever visited. Save your money and skip Rehoboth Beach and Provincetown and go somewhere that you actually get treated like a real human being.
over priced, stuffy and arrogant staff as well as mediocre food why would anyone spend money in this cramped wanna be restaurant. get out of the eighties people. the minimalist thing is so overplayed. what is with these menu prices!!!!!!! Nothing here is gold plated. Sysco, Sysco, Sysco. The service staff is Inattentive, un-caring, arrogant, and down right awful. Please you are 40 years old, get over yourself.
We have never been disappointed by the Blue Moon. The food is consistently inventive without being bizarre. The Blue Moon led the way for fine dining in Rehoboth, and still leads the pack. It is worth every dime spent.
The bar and patio are also a lot of fun!
