Thoroughly mediocre. Wine list short, & poor. Bar is nice. Food mediocre, service unexceptional.

Life is too short to eat mediocre food.

Overall, would definitely recommend. High points: everyone enjoyed what they ordered, service was excellent (once seated), food prices surpisingly reasonable. Low points: Very crowded, reservations a must (we waited about 15 minutes with a reservation but we were early); bar prices a little high.

Best, most fun restaurant in D.C. Without being too expensive, Ebbit's had great food, and let me say THE BEST OYSTERS IN THE WORLD. I would also recommend the walrus burger ( cheddar cheese, and balsamic caramelized onions). If you are in D.C, go here.

Probably the most lively place for a late night drink on a weekday evening.

Felt like we were being put through the motions. The food, decor and service was good...but to push through the number of patrons with reservations...it felt like a machine rather than a relaxing evening.

Old indeed. Tired and Touristy, this "Clyde's Plus" should be passed by, unless you need a place to entertain visitors from out of town with kids.

Great raw bar and happy hour specials, good bartenders and wait staff, and always appealing menu items. However, Old Ebbitts is ALWAYS crowded, and the menu rarely changes.
