Aqua, Hong Kong

With high hopes and enthusiasm we finally got a seat at aqua only to be highly disappointed. We had dinner there for 2 on valentines day and had to pay 1,500 HKD for a 4 course meal. Everything on the menu was bland, boring and unmemorable. The first course being random "sashimi" and then flowed by a ravioli that also was incredibly bland. I chose to have the fish main course which was attempting to be bold with flavors and failed. Then to finish it off we had a chocolate cake that sat next to a unpalatable scoop of coffee ice cream. It was the worst meal I have had in a very long time. Not to mention the 70HKD bottled beer to leave a sour note, and also their most popular drink the mango mojito should be more appropriately named shaved mango ice.

Fantastic view of Hong Kong Harbour located on the top three floors of 1 Peking Road. My wife's dish was undercooked which spoiled the evening, but otherwise, top class attentative service. Reception staff advised us of minimum charge per person before showing us to our table which I found a bit off putting and snobbish. Not value for money as far as food is concerned, even though it was very good, you are rather paying for the view and trendy upmarket atmosphere.

I arrived a few minutes before the restaurant opened. The hostess was perfect in guiding me to the table with the fantastic harvour view. I ordered a special house cocktail, antipasto from chef's recommendation, and sea urchin pasta. All were very delicious! The service was also very attentive -- except that the food was served a bit faster in the beginning. After I told the waiter, he slowed down the pace and I enjoyed the food to the fullest. It was a great experience -- scrumptious food, superb service and breath taking views!

Brilliant view. Brilliant interior. Crowded bar area with see and be seeners, (prefered Felix's bar for friendly people). Great accomodating service, great sushi. Fun time. Will go back and try the Italian side and the Sushi bar. Bar area is above the restaurant and is a bit loud, but adds to the kinetic ambiance. Check it out!
