Smoke Gets In Your Fries
If you like a good beef sandwich, carved from the round and don't mind an unwanted helping of tars, ash and other assorted, cancer compounds in the air, this is your place. Be aware though, the cigarette smoke is so thick that is it surely condensing on that round of beef that sits behind the bar, waiting to be carved for your sandwich.
Unfortunately, the smoke is not the only gnarly substance in the air at the Beef and Ale (as the locals refer to it). Call it bad vibes. Call it a negative atmosphere. It rubs off onto you, just as the smoke settles into your clothes and hair. Most everyone there is surly and opinionated - bar tenders, management, even the customers. But maybe that's what has kept this place going for so many years. Everyone there is part of the same club. It's just not my club.
