Tortugas Mexican Eatery, Collegeville

Awesome. We order takeout for small or large parties, or dine in with our kids and it is always consistently good food. Beats anything Mexican in and around this area. Service is friendly, sometimes slow, but the food is fantastic every time.

I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant always trying to pick them above any other mexican restaurant in the area. However after a certain behaviour I have noted during last three visits over the course of six months I have decided never to visit them again. The restaurant's policy directly conflicts with the dignity of a human being who should be respected for being a customer. Two past instances when they did not have all ingredients supported on their menu item were exused by me. This time however I took my children and requested for extra plates while dining. For this I get an unruly statement from the waitress that she has to charge me double for extra plates treating them as 2 orders. What kind of policy would this be? I understand some restaurants have surcharge for sharing. However this was not told to us before taking the order and to be honest it can never amount to be double order that too for children because all I requested for was an extra plate. I feel insulted and like a fool for having tipped them graciously so many times. If a customer cannot have service having been familiar to them then they need to relearn their work. Shame on Tortugas for having lost a valued customer and not having any clue about customer service.

Horrible lunch. Slow. There was a freaking bay leaf in the food? Waitress got several orders wrong. Used to be so much better. Fortunately it is not Northern Suburbs only Mexican Food option any more. Won't be back.

I should have been alarmed when I walked in and the place was empty. I had a coupon that was in one of those local mailer coupon envelopes. I ordered a trio enchelada meal, one sausage, one beef, and one chicken. When I got the meal, it was pretty cold. The food was extremely bland, and the sausage tasted like it had ora-gel medicine or something in it. My stomach was in knots the rest of the day. The food was way overpriced too. The server was alright, but could have catered to us a little better since we were the ONLY ONES THERE. She dissapeared for long period of time. Definitely would never go there again.

This place is fantastic. The Carne Asada is the best! I have read through previous reviews and I cannot disagree more with some of the service complaints. They are lovely people! I wish they accepted credit cards.

Taco Bell is better than this place. This was the most bland Mexican food I've ever had. There was no spice whatsoever. Prices were outrageous for the quality. If you want real Mexican food avoid this place.

This is a hidden Gem in colledgeville. Food taste very good, staff very friendly, service can be a little slow during lunch time.

The atmosphere and the presentation of the food was wonderful. The food was flavorful until it came to the rice, very bland. I wouldn't suggest going on a Friday, The server we had wasn't very pleasent and didn't come back to ask how our food was, nor did she fill our drinks and didn't even offer us a dessert menu, it was almost like they were short handed and she was trying to take over the entire dining room and didn't accept help from the other waitresses (whom we did ask to fill our drinks). We'll definitely come back for the food and atmosphere, if on a Friday, you can count on us asking to be seated with the long hair waitress.

Tortugas is an extremly nice mexican resturant with very good food. The service is also very good. The problem with the resturant would probably be the price. If the prices weren't so high I'd go there all the time.
