are you kidding me?
I'm glad someone had a good time at this place, cause we sure didn't. We had been to Ruby's before in other places, so when we moved to Philadelphia we were happy to see a familiar face.
We went there once, and the service was fine. No problem. So then one night we decided to go back. And this time, it was a whole different story.
Our troubles began the minute we walked in. There was no hostess standing at the podium. Figuring she was seating someone, we quietly waited for her to come back. But she didn't. A waitress wandering by smiled at us and told us she was on her way. So we waited some more. Five minutes later, a hostess comes up to seat us, and she has a bad attitude. She gets ill when we ask for a booth, and instead of giving us a big booth in the back (there were some open) she insists on us taking a small booth in the front.
Then a waitress comes to take our orders. She seems nice enough. We order our food, and we wait. And we wait some more. Twenty minutes we're sitting there waiting, and then the waitress comes back. But not with our food! She's come to tell us that the kitchen gave our food to someone else, so we'll have to wait for them to do it over. So then we wait for another ten minutes. We've been in the restaurant now for 45 minutes and have no food. My husband is ready to get up and leave, but I make him wait, and finally our food comes out. The waitress is apologizing, but she makes no effort to make it up to us. No extra pickles, no free ice cream, no nothing.
Then the waitress forgot about getting us ketchup for our fries, and she forgot when we asked for moist napkins. The guy sitting next to us had a similar experience, so my husband and he were talking across the aisle about the lousy service.
We finally ask for the bill and she gives it to us. No discount for the wait, nothing. We leave her a small tip and leave, after being there over an hour.
