Jim's Steaks

Description

Since 1939 this dining mainstay has been consistently rated as one of the area's best for having mastered the culinary art of creating authentic Philly cheesesteaks. Cheez Whiz , sauteed onions, mushrooms, and peppers are just a few of the extras that are always on call to top the thinly sliced rib eyes. Put them together on a long Italian torpedo roll and you have a sandwich masterpiece. The menu also offers several cheesesteak variations as well as soups and salads. Its late hours make it a favorite with the bar crowd.

Visited Independence Hall and stop her at Jim s. for the price and time it was not worth it. I would not reccomend eating there. Dine in area was filthy and it was very outdated

While visiting the Art Institute of Philly, my father & I decided to get a cheese steak, & we wanted to know where. My admissions coordinator even referred us to Jim's, as did my teacher back in Allentown, PA. We went, & even my father who was a seasoned Philly cheese steak eater said it was one of the best he's ever had. I had my first official Philly cheese steak here & my mouth waters every time I even think about it. I recommend here above all else. They pack on just the perfect amound of Whiz & sauce, the meat is all extremely fresh and there's a very good variety of toppings. The price is reasonable as well.

We were in Philly for two days. Trying out different Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches was our mission. I agree with what the food critics said - when it comes to Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches, it is all about what you like. They talked so much about Jim's on the duck tours so we decided to pay a visit. If you like dry and flavorless steaks, this is where you need to be. I added the marinara sauce to mine. It was flavorless too. Jim's is overrated. Staff was not friendly. Also, they do not accept credit cards. They need to hurry up and join the 21st century!

Best Cheesesteak in Philly. If you are trying one of the icons, you will be disappointed if you go to Geno's or Pat's. This sandwich is very good, and you will agree that it was worth all the fuss.

Visited this iconic illadelph staple and was instantly captured by the small hometown Feel and the eclectic mixture of people whom Would grace this marvelous eatery and lounge. Service was quick and excellent albeit I was Given a bit of a out-of-towner verbal spanking for not knowning the correct verbage when ordering . * smile * All in all, great place to go and hang out or Steaks on the go and just walk along south street enjoying the afternoon or nightly Festivities . :)

Can you say YUMMY! wow-loved it. I came to Jersey for friends but HAD to stop in Philly for the Cheese steaks. You don't go to Philly & not stop and get you one. I thought Jim's piled on the meat-very very yummy! & didn't get it Philly style.lol ( sorry ). But great times! I say if you have the chance-GO TO PHILLY & GET THESE CHEESE STEAKS!!!

I live in Philly and Jim's is hands down the BEST cheesesteak in Philly. If you can go to only one place to get a cheesesteak in Philly go to Jim's.

I was in PHilly a few years ago and just had to have a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. I was told by an emergency room doctor in Gettysburg that Jim's was the best, so my husband & I went there to grab one. It was awesome!! I can't find another one like it anywhere. I can't wait to go back on vacation and get another sandwich from Jim's.
