I agree, do not listen to the bad reviews!!! I went last night with two other people and it was amazing. The absolute best lobster I have ever tasted!! It simply melted in my mouth. Our waiter was great!!! The place if beautiful. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
DO NOT BELIEVE the bad critiques. This place was amazing and exquisite. I was VERY skeptical in deciding to go to the Chart House Restaurant solely because of all the bad reviews I seen online. Boy am I glad I tried it for myself. The food is awesome and so is the service. I ordered the crab stuff flounder as well as steamed mussels. I absolutely love every bite of it, and I’m usually closed-minded with these kinds of food. I am a VERY cheap person (FREE is not cheap enough for me). But it was worth the $117 bill (For 2 people). The ocean view was beautiful. I DO not regret anything about this amazing restaurant.
Beautiful setting but we sat so close to the fountain you could not hear the person next to you that well. Food was fair tasting, far too expensive for what was serve. All the soup served to our table was cold. My Sea Bass at $34.99 tasted as mild as flounder. My risotto was tasted more like macaroni and cheese than anything Italian. Everything was too salty.
The lava dessert is a big waste of money.
Our service was poor. The restaurant did not seem crowded but we had to ask for our bread, which arrived after the appetizers. Our waiter never asked how our food was, never asked if we wanted refills on our drinks. Actually, he only came to the table to take our order and serve. Otherwise, he was invisible.
Too much money for a so-so meal.
My wife and I have been going to the Chart House every other year for our anniversary, and have always gotten great food and good service. Last night was no exception. We love the Lobster Bisque, we get that everytime. My wife got the Macadamia Crusted Mahi and I got the Mixed Grill. Both were great dishes. Our server was very articulate and responsive to our needs. We will definitely keep going back.
The place it self was nice Good service and the look was very nice over all. If that’s all you want from it then great! My girlfriend and I want their and she thought her food was good and I did sample it. It was good for the most part. We had crab stuff mushrooms as an appetizer and that was okay but the mushroom were not cooked enough, they were still raw which is good for a salad but not a cooked dish. Then the horrible part. I ordered a chicken Marcella. OMG the worst I ever had!!!! I would recommend any dinner or even one from Mc Donald’s before I ever got it here again. It was like someone dipped the chicken in watered down wine and put it on the plate to give to me. There was no real gravy on it or flavor. The grave it self that was on it as thin as water and had no flavor at all!!!!!!!! I am no chef but heck I did work in a restaurant as a kid and I know what a chicken Marcella should taste line and that was not it! I will not go back and waste my money!!!!
I had my 50th Birthday dinner tonight with my family. When we arrived, the view and the ambience in the lounge was stunning, the service was awesome. When our table was ready, we were directed upstairs to a somewhat private table for 5, by the window in the far right corner. It was very disappointing since it was so warm at that table. We did tell our waiter that it was very hot and uncomfortable, then again to the hostess. We were informed that it would get cooler, but it never did! We didn't ask to be moved, but we should have.....
My daughter felt ill, and I was actually sweating to the point where it was just uncomfortable, so we rushed through dinner, and didn't even order dessert! I just feel bad that we spent alot of money and hoped for a special evening together, to be disappointed and uncomfortable with the seating arrangement, on the hottest day of the summer so far! Make sure to request a table downstairs to eat or stay away from that corner behind the kitchen.....NOT the best table in the house as we were informed!!
The last time I ate here and when they asked how everything was, I shouldn't have said ok just to not complain. Now I find myself there again for the view and dissatisfied with the restaurant again. First they told us we couldn't have dinner served at the downstairs bar area, which the staff downstairs later told me different. Second ordering a bottle of Melbec wine from the wine menu they were off by 2 years in there selection. I did enjoy this mistake though: the '08's are nice. It was possibly our fault on having filet and the recommended strip steak (at a seafood restaurant), both pricy and charred beyond enjoyment. Sent filet back and it wasn't any better. The restaurant took the filet off the bill, but the whole expierance, of timing, lieing, and waste of the beautiful view, by posing as a good restaurant, will leave me wishing someone would step in and fix this place. I won't be giving it another chance for a long time, and then I will be checking the reviews very carefully. The valet parking was the highlight of the whole expierance. In the future I might just use the valet parking and walk over to the Moshalu next store.
we had reservations for 11 people for my husbands birthday, a surprise party. We arrived there table was not where we requested it, on the lower level. We were crammed together in a area where the air conditioning was not working. Food was cold and not worth the cost. The waiter bought out the wrong cake for my husband, service was really bad, the waiter seemed totally confused. There was a total of only six tables being used in the entire restaurant on a Sunday evening. We understand the reason now. Will not patronize the philadelphia location again!!!!
Noisey, poor service, and just OK food for the price. Had reservations, showed up on time and still had a long wait and then offered a table right by the entrance with people coming and going and the bar combo playing right next to us. We lamented the situation to our hostess and she checked with someone else and we were given a booth in the better dining area on the 2nd floor. Service very poor, hard to hear the waiter with all the noise, even in the dining area, and long waits for attention. My steak was cooked properly but a bit lacking in that extra touch to make it great. Presentation was basically just some potatoes and a piece of meat on a dish. Also had one of the recommended house special martinis and it was disappointing too and certainly not worth the price. Don't waste your money on this place. Only good thing, if you can get it, is a nice view of the river. Charthouse was a total disappointment.
Absolutely SUB-PAR!! I origionally had heard of Chart house's exceptional service and food. NOT TRUE!!!! Made my reservation for 7:30 at least 5 weeks in advance for MOTHERS DAY and we were seated 20 minutes after our reservation. Then we waited over 30 minutes to even be greeted. Spoke to several waitresses (who were nice, but not helpful) then went to a manager over 6 times. The manager took our order, explained that the staff had been on since 9am (not MY problem!!) and were tired. So the manager used a food runner (not a waiter) to remedy. The soup was cold and I've had better salads at McDonalds! Then, a waiter tried to give us the wrong meal immediately after receiving our appetizers. .. about 45 minutes later we received our meals which were not prepared as described on the menu. I refused my entree due to its lack of appropriateness, and the manager tried to give us a free dessert to remedy the situation. After waiting 2 HOURS i didn't want a damn dessert, so we demanded that our bill be reduced. Not only that but the table next to us walked out on their bill for similar service and quality (they're lucky we didn't!) and two tables down, their food was cold and ill-prepared. DO NOT GO TO CHART HOUSE!! perhaps enjoy Moshulu next door inside. because that is where i will be taking my business for a good meal for now on.
