DO NOT BELIEVE the bad critiques. This place was amazing and exquisite. I was VERY skeptical in deciding to go to the Chart House Restaurant solely because of all the bad reviews I seen online. Boy am I glad I tried it for myself. The food is awesome and so is the service. I ordered the crab stuff flounder as well as steamed mussels. I absolutely love every bite of it, and I’m usually closed-minded with these kinds of food. I am a VERY cheap person (FREE is not cheap enough for me). But it was worth the $117 bill (For 2 people). The ocean view was beautiful. I DO not regret anything about this amazing restaurant.

Beautiful setting but we sat so close to the fountain you could not hear the person next to you that well. Food was fair tasting, far too expensive for what was serve. All the soup served to our table was cold. My Sea Bass at $34.99 tasted as mild as flounder. My risotto was tasted more like macaroni and cheese than anything Italian. Everything was too salty. The lava dessert is a big waste of money. Our service was poor. The restaurant did not seem crowded but we had to ask for our bread, which arrived after the appetizers. Our waiter never asked how our food was, never asked if we wanted refills on our drinks. Actually, he only came to the table to take our order and serve. Otherwise, he was invisible. Too much money for a so-so meal.

My wife and I have been going to the Chart House every other year for our anniversary, and have always gotten great food and good service. Last night was no exception. We love the Lobster Bisque, we get that everytime. My wife got the Macadamia Crusted Mahi and I got the Mixed Grill. Both were great dishes. Our server was very articulate and responsive to our needs. We will definitely keep going back.

impressive salad bar -- includes caviar (and accompaniments) and hearts of palm. the lobster bisque is to die for. the view of the ben franklin bridge, battleship new jersey and dockside apartments may make the restaurant seem touristy, but the food is great

The food is average at best. While the location is nice, it's just not worth it, especially with the Musholu next door.
