Aki Japanese Restaurant, Philadelphia

Does anyone know if this used to be Aoi Sushi? I think Aoi changed to Aki but did they move the location?

I don't know what things have been like recently, but I used to frequent Aoi several times a week during my college days in Philly. I loved the atmosphere, the service and the food. I especially enjoyed the soups and the sushi specials. I have not been back recently, but from 2001 to 2005ish I loved this place.

The worst sushi in the entire city. The food here is horrible. All these positive reviews are at last a year old so it must have been good at some point in time but the food is disgusting now.

Awesome all you can eat sushi special. The quality is amazing and is reasonably priced.

Aoi is a really great restaurant. the servers are very polite, the food is great, and the atmosphere is wonderful. My sister's and I have girls night out, and Aoi is always our first stop.

the food was just awsome. i mean it was fresh and it was so good. it was easy to try new things and it wasn't that expensive.............:)

I am abosoulutly in love with AOI. Their all you can eat sushi is the best ayce quality I have ever had. You order it by the piece and although the selection is limited, there is plenty to choose from. I couldn't reccomned this place any higher.

Out of all the places I have dined, AOI knocks up the rate with style. I am a classically trained chef, so my standards are high, but this place lights up the palate. The made to order all you can eat sushi is fabulous. Order it and you will not be let down. In God We Trust and Live, Joseph

Overall, it is the best sushi restaurant I've found in the city. Haru is over-priced with snobby staff. Most other places do not have Japanese sushi chefs! The wait staff is attentive, despite what some other reviews have said. The sushi is fresh, well-made(does not fall apart when eating), and good portions. They have some more rare kinds of fish when in season too. And, here's a hint, you can get ramen there! It's not on the menu, but, if you ask, they have several kinds to pick from.
