Crush Wine Bar
Crush offers conventional French cuisine complemented with an exquisite selection of wines. For those really finicky about the food they eat, there is an open kitchen. The ambience is effervescent and the red-bricked walls are adorned with vintage paintings. Start your meal with appetisers, such as Pâte de Campagne, which is an amalgamation of walnut puree and apricots or the Seared Quebec Foie Gras. For the main course, there's delights, such as Chicken Sûpreme and Duck Confit. And for desert, sink your teeth into some Tahitian Vanilla Crème Brûlee.
Lovely wood floor and simple decor makes this a very warm and inviting restaurant.
Food: Tastes like it should! Sounds silly but this kitchen knows how to cook. Chicken that is crispy and nicely seasoned on the outside and juicy and tasty on the inside. Wonderful accompaniments. Appetizers demonstrate the skill of the kitchen. Love the pates and soups. Excellent creme brulee.
Wines - fun and different selection. You won't find most of (or all?) these wines at the LCBO. Decent prices but you may have to rely on the sommelier to assist with selection.
Value is quite good I find.
The food was mediocre, the service was fairly horrible, and they were sold out of 40% of their menu items (we learned this one by one when we would order something else, sold out.. Something else.. Sold out).
Skip Crush, the atmosphere is REALLY nice but when we finally did get some food it was mediocre and didn't warrant the $40 a plate pricetag.
