Better than eating at Ariana is eating there with friends and family. We frequent many Philadelphia BYOs, but make it to Ariana more than anywhere else. The food is consistently wonderful and the service attentive. Best of all, after a busy day, or a busy week, life stresses seem to disapear when we cross their doorstep. My only problem is deciding what to order (my wife orders the chicken kebab every time we go!) The assorted appetizers are always a good start and the desserts are interesting without being weird. Somehow word must have gotten out to International House at Penn - - most always there are 8 or 10 international students at a big table, or sitting on pillows in the window, having a marvlous time.
I enjoyed this place for 2 reasons: Great food and a humble and kind owner. I learned of the owner's love for his food and his passion and love for his wife (who recently perished). This was the best afghan resturant I have visited. Great food and Great owner! A must when you are at philadelphia.
