Description

Philadelphia restaurant impresario Stephen Starr's retro-modern offering, located in the town's "University City" neighborhood, lets its guests sip sake, beer, and colored cocktails while munching on fresh sushi, dim sum, and Pan-Asian entrees. The hip, contemporary, "starship-like" space was conceptualized by famed Manhattan designer David Rockwell and influenced by the films "Sleeper" and "2001: A Space Odyssey."

YUCK! over priced supermarket quality sushi! Decor is a boring 70s feel that is only cool if you are two sakes in.

Last night, we went to Pod for my graduation dinner, and we had an unbelievable experience! The waitress was very pleasant, and the service was impeccable. I would highly recommend the sake mojito. It was my first time trying one, and although I am not a big fan of sweet alcohol drinks, this one was really worth the try. The food was excellent, and the decor was really stimulating for the eyes. We sat in a private booth where you can change the color of the lights. The combination of everything, including the hip music, made for a wonderful evening and celebration. Thank you, Pod!

After all these years the concrete booths and the sushi are still holding up, Starr's best work in Philly.
