Morimoto, Philadelphia

The food was truly outstanding. We had the chef choose courses (and supplemented some of our favorite sashimi, as well), and it was the most incredible experience I've had. It rivalled Blowfish in Toronto, my favorite sushi anywhere. The service was really poor -- took 45 minutes for our first course to get there. Not sure what the problem was, but the food more than made up for it!

My son and I are from Missouri, we visited on Aug 13 2009. This was with out a doubt the BEST meal we have ever had. I can't say thanks enough for such a great experience. THANKS!!!

I love going there, the food was delicious the service was on point and the ambiance was wonderful. The lights in the seats and on the walls change to wonderful colors from time to time. I was there almost a year ago, but I remember what I had. I had Miso Soup, which is so good and crunchy with NY Steak Strips they were salted perfectly and tasted wonderful, and I had a Chocolate Parfait, I never had one before, but I wanted more of it all the next day. It was excellent. Hopefully when I graduate, and get a good enough job I can go there whenever I like.

The store front was simple but once inside, you are engulfed by an ever changing ambient light show. However, we had the Omakase and all of my attention was fixated on the presentation of wonderful dishes. Not to mention that if Morimoto is in the restaurant, he rounds at the table!!! For anyone in the Philly area, not interested in a cheesesteak, go to Morimoto's.

I went to Morimoto's for my Birthday and it was great. I totally loved the food. The atmosphere was so great also... Everything about this place was just what I needed it was fresh and very exciting.

While on a business trip from Toronto, I took the opportunity to visit Morimoto

Although I knew Mr. Morimoto's foods are different from traditional Japanese foods, the orders and foods they served are beyond my imagination. They focus on apperances rather than Japanese ordinal orders and taste, therefore their food may look creative. For Japanese people their foods and orders may be annoying. Also they serve very slowly if you don't have reservation. For people who are intersted in going to the restaurant, you should prepare $200 per person and take as many friends as possible so that you can wait for the next food with prudence required in the restaurant.

Although it carries the name of the Iron Chef, I've never actually seen him, his staff carries out the Chef's mission. For a real treat, sit at the Sushi bar when Morimomto's open their doors at 5 p.m.. The Sushi chefs prepare all the ingredients for the evenings guests. You'll see some awesome knife work. The food is excellent and the presentation is held to a high degree. You'll pay for it...but not too much.
