Zanzibar Blue, Philadelphia

I have to be in the right mood for jazz. One night I was and so I went. It was a good choice. The food was good, but a tad pricey. The music was great. Some of the other patrons were a little snooty, but that's their problem. All in all, a good spot

The atmosphere was pleasant very pleasant the food great and the service just as friendly not to mention since I love jazz its a great place for that too. Went to a friends daughter's birthday party there it was really nice

Though the atmosphere is nice and the jazz for the Sunday brunch is great, the service at this place is atrocious and the food is mediocre at best. The brunch offers a drink, starter, main course, and desert. 1 hour and 15 minutes after ordering... no starter. No waiter to be found either. We found the manager, they admitted that the waiter cancelled our order in their system, and promised our food would be up right away. Another 15 minutes went by, and we received the starter. Another 30 minutes went by and no main course. We asked the manager again; they promised it was coming. Almost 30 minutes later SOME of our food came out. By the time the rest of the food came, everyone else's was cold. Everything was overcooked and bland. Then we got the bill.... and never received the desert. We spent 2 1/2 hours there. What a waste of time and money.

I had a 9:30 reservation on Saturday night. Didn't get seated until 10:00. The bar was about 100 degree's wait in line. The Menu only had 9 entree's and when the waitress came over she informed us they were out of the Filet Migion, Porkchops, and Salmon. So after that i made sure we weren't going to be charged the extra 60.00 for the show and promptly finished our drinks and left. Doubt if i will ever go back there. what a joke

I love Zanzibar! Happy Hour...an evening concert...Sunday Brunch...you can do it all with charm and elegance at Zanzibar..Its everything I've ever imagined a Jazz Club to be....intimate and spacious, romantic and casual, and the live performances make your heart beat faster. No matter where you sit you can see the performers face and feel the drum beats. I always take out ot town guests for Sunday Brunch. Kinda pricey, but $27 for LIVE jazz and a gourmet 3 course meal & beverage isn't asking too much. They tend to run out of the popular breakfast menu items by the afternoon set. So make reservations for the 11:30 brunch set. Overall a phenomenal place!

I work for the DOD and have lived and worked in Eupore and Asia for over 25 years. Every time I am in Philly Zanzibar Blue is on my must do list. The food and service is superb, not to mention one of the best Jazz venues anywhere.

What was not to like. Even though I arrived late and missed my resevred table, I was still given an excellent table to enjoy and see the show. The service, entertainment, food, and drinks were all EXCELLENT!!! So it safe to say I WILL COME HERE AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!!!!

I love the very intimate atmosphere of this restaurant. I love the music that have been privy to listen to. The food is unique and magically delicious, and the service is superb. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that enjoys a night of causal yet elegant dining.
