The Restaurant Just north of Philadelphia, Chef-Owner Timothy E. Papa opened his restaurant in 1999 to showcase his talents and to offer discerning customers his interpretation of fine dining. It is no wonder 211 York has become so vastly popular. The Experience Experience Chef Papa's philosophy of fine dining in a casually elegant bistro setting, with classic service and reasonable prices. Choose your meal from a menu in which appetizers, entrees and wines seamlessly complement each other.
What a delightful restaurant! The atmosphere was comfortable and stylish and not jam-packed with tables. The website only has a sample menu, but don't worry, there is plenty for everyone. I am by no means, a fancy eater, but they have plenty to please - chicken pot pie, seafood dishes, pasta, roasted chicken, steak, and I could go on. I had the mushroom linguine which was excellent. My husband had catfish and carrot soup which was also delicious! All of the staff was very friendly and so attentive. The prices are a bit higher than I would spend normally, but for special occasions, this restaurant is perfect. It's located across the street from the Hi Way Theater so dinner and a movie would be a perfect date or time spent with friends and/or family. :)
This is a spectacular restaurant. The service, food and decor rival anything you can find downtown with the exception of a somewhat smaller menu. The chef is top notch, and will adapt his menu to special dietary needs, which is crucial for me. But more importantly the dining experience simply can't be better. I can never believe that the place isn't swamped -- a sleeper restaurant that deserves a far better profile. The continental selections always include a range of food that is bound to please everyone in your group. The seasonal soups are tops, fish is always done perfectly and the staff is personable and responsive. From the heated role to the perfect coffee, spending a couple of hours here is a pleasure.
