Tastebuds, New Hope

Had a date with a VERY special someone Friday. Googled and looked at all the BYOB restaurant options in the area. This one caught my interest because of its semi-secluded off the main tourist trail location, interesting name, and the very limited seating really gave it an exclusive feeling. Called @ 5:45pm, made res's for 8 pm. Ambiance and atmosphere was spot on! Very romantic without being tacky or cheesy. Very unique feel to it. Staff was amazing! Service was impeccable! Food was equally amazing! Right as we finished Dessert and were finishing off our wine, the 9:30 Friday fireworks started! We were encouraged by the staff to go outside to finish our wine so we could catch the fireworks! Perfect view! No crowd either as I mentioned earlier this is semi-secluded spot. Couldn't have even scripted a better date... Will be dining here again very soon as this is totally 'our place' now!

This is one of my favorite restaurants -- anywhere. Small, intimate, romantic, quaint, rustic (but elegant) and the food & service are superb. John, the owner/host is charming & well informed. It's BYOB, but frankly I prefer that, because I am picky about my wines. They will accomodate food allergies happily (such as gluten intolerance) and the food is first quality. If you want to charm your companion with a great intimate dinner, this is the place to go.

Tastebuds does not honor gift certificates one day beyond the expiration date - so beware. Staff is haughty and impolite. My friends and I will never go back there. Food was unimaginative and very ordinary.

My wife and are avid diners, and having lived here for years, have eaten at just about every restaurant in the area. Tastebuds is among the top restaurants we've eaten at anywhere, period. New York, Philly, Vancouver, London, Tokyo - Tastebuds stands up to comparison with the best. The dishes are artfully prepared and never fail to be delicious. Adding to the experience is John, the owner. He's always friendly and stops by to chat and ensure that we're enjoying our meal. If you're in the area and want a special meal that will spoil you for other restaurants, try Tastebuds.

great for birthday or other celbration, its a byob, and NOT cheap. expect to spend $50 per person. wonderful soup, wonderful desert. dinner is WONDERFUL, and portions are small-medium size. also, ask for the 2 main dinning rooms, not near the bathroom (its tiny).
