The Mesquito Grill is your premiere location for wings, beer and events. Mesquito Grille has - hands down - the best wings and variety of wings to be had anywhere. The only thing more varied is our beer selection, with over 150 bottled and on tap beers. Join us for your favorite sporting events!
I saw some of these reviews today and need to help correct the injustices cast upon this establishment. By far the Mesquito Grill is one of my favorite places. You should be prepared to wait a little longer (maybe it has to do with the 20 ounce mugs) than many other places, and if you like an array of draft and bottled beers, you can use that time to figure out what you would like to drink. Perhaps the standard Stone Arrogant B, Rogue, Brooklyns, Belgians, Germans, English, etc... Friendly service with a SMOKE FREE bar to the right and a smoking bar to the left of the takeout coolers at the entrance. A deck awaits upstairs if you want to be outside.
As for the vegetarian unfriendly comment, while a BBQ Grill is not the most veggie-friendly place, many food selections can be ordered without meat if you are a vegetarian. Try the Szechuan chicken wrap if you like a good time! All kinds of great pub fare - many wing sauces and great wings for ‘em! Just ask and you will receive at this gem!
This place got the trifecta - poor service, poor food, and long waits. Not enough wait staff the night we were there - and the staff was young and inexperienced. The bartender for instance was waiting on three tables himself while attempting to tend to a very busy bar. The food was bad even considering this is really a tavern. Gumbo with beef in it and no seafood? Also if you're a vegetarian - forget it - they have one vegetarian friendly offering. The one thing that saves this place is their beer selection and their wings. About the best beer selection you can find. My recommendation - go for the game or for a drink with your buddies, but do dinner elsewhere.
10/28/05: They wanted my credit card for a reservation!: I've eaten here before. Lunch is pretty dull. Dinner is okay. Another friend wanted to go with a group of 7. They wouldn't accept my reservation without my giving them a credit card. Not exactly customer friendly. I won't go there again.
1/26/08: I went again because friends wanted to go. No reservation problem this time! We were a group of six. The reservation was for 6:30. We got there a few minutes late and the rest of our party was already seated. Service was fairly good. However--gratuity was included, but at 20%. If it had been my choice, I might have tipped that high, but to have more than 15-18% included automatically turned me off.
I had reservations at 7:30 PM - we got seated a little early which was nice. Placed our order, then four tables came after we got our appetizers, ordered, ate and left and we still hadn't gotten our meal. It was 8:45 PM before we even got served and the food was cold. To top it off the waitress was avoiding us so we didn't even have drinks. The staff was making up all kinds of stories when we kept confronting them. Finally I made the waitress take it up with the owner - so the owner was very nice and understanding and we split the bill. However the wait staff told a totally different story from the truth. VERY BAD SERVICE! Perhaps it was just a bad night.
Never Dined-In but always do Take-Out which is Great! If you like Ribs, they are Phenomenal. We also have never been disappointed with their Sandwiches (Buffalo Chicken my favorite) or Buffalo Wings. If you are looking for something a little different than pizza give this place a call.
