I LOVE .. THE LOCAL! So does my husband and daughter, we enjoyed our Mother s Day and Father s Day meal there.. as well as a Supper Club, earlier in the year. The food is delicious and nutritious.. Having some friends there with us in November.. Can t wait to go again. You can eat inside and outside. We ve done both.. We LOVE the atmosphere, as well as, the food. Hope you will enjoy it too.
The food is average but the service is horrible. If you call in an order or walk in to pick one up you will be left hanging for at least 10 minutes. If you have a long lunch break it s a good place to eat, but service is not a strong point.
The Local sucks. period. dirty overpriced bad service. My wife and I were there Valentines Day. OUTRAGEOUS PRICES! Very small portions, Husband and Wife managers were rude and nasty to the staff. Do your self a favor, stay home!
Had breakfast here, over priced and supermaket quality food at best. the coffee was so so, the toast was not toasted and barely buttered, the eggs were runny and the potatoes were few and freezer bought not fresh as I thought they might be. the bacon, 2 slices for 2 dollars a bit high and at the end what was a meal on the menu for 4.95, plus 2 dollars for the bacon turned into 8.53. they chaged me for the toast which was a part of the 4.95 breakfast, 2 dollars. I will not go back to be ripped off again and besides the food was poor. the service was okay. that's it. save your money, buy fresh food at a market and cook it yourself, you'll save money and hassel.
Nach - A delicious blend of beef, tomatoes, leaf lettuce, and American cheese grilled to satisfy the taste buds of any burger fanatic. I rate the Caboose an overall 8.5 out of 10 for the quick service (with good looks) and their tasty bacon cheeseburgers. The only con of my experience was the occasional fly (or flies) that swarmed around when the food arrived. Go Caboose.
Paco - The Caboose Grille is a nice little place that has outdoor dining right next to the railroad tracks (3 trains per week - none at lunchtime). The tables are solid and the chairs are very comfortable, it's also relatively quiet for being outside. I had Amanda's wrap, a chicken, bacon with chipolte sauce number that was packed to the gills and deleeecious. For a side I chose the potato salad, I prefer a little more mayo but the taste was good. The service was excellent and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend it.
T-Bone - Went for lunch on a Friday and sat outside on a beautiful day. I kept it simple by ordering a burger; Mushroom “with swiss cheese, garlic butter, and sautéed mushrooms...” The burger was tasty, but perhaps too salty for some. The ingredients were almost identical to those found in a Bennigan’s restaurant. The garlic butter was definitely garlicy. The mushrooms slid right out of a can, and the burger was obviously of the frozen variety. It had a shape of a 12 roundly-pointed star (if that makes sense to you). Frozen doesn’t bother me, but is almost impossible to cook less than medium. There was no pink on the inside, but it was still juicy and flavorful. I also tried the pasta salad as a side. The pasta was penne noodles and appeared to have a lot of seasoning/spices, but fell very flat on flavor. I should have gone with fries. Also took note that no lettuce, tomato or onion was served with the burger, just a bun. Parking was a bit confusing as there is apparently a bank nearby with lots of ‘Parking for bank. Others will be towed’ sign. The staff was courteous and friendly. When settling the bill, which was very reasonable, I noticed that they were serving iced teas and lemonades with strawberries on top. They didn’t look like fresh strawberries, but still looked like a nice little touch! Knowing what to expect, I would definitely go there again. With a beer or two (not during a work lunch), it would most likely be a nice, fun place to dine.
Very quaint little cafe located in an old train station. The music was slightly too loud, but not obnoxious. Clean (including the ladies room) and charming. Service was very good - wait staff was friendly and attentive and they didn't rush us out even though we lingered for quite awhile after paying the check.
The coffee was good but the food was mostly mediocre, and I think a bit pricey for the quality/amounts. The cheeseburger we ordered rare was dry and well done, and the mozzarella sticks were overcooked. The crab rangoon appetizer was a nice idea, but surprisely flavorless (though it made me want to try my own at home). On the plus side, the turkey reuben sandwich was very tasty, and the fries were hot and appeared to be made from fresh potatoes, something you don't see often in the US.
We won't be back, but we enjoyed the experience of having lunch in a unique and pleasant spot.
Tried this place for lunch....The service was mediocre (nobody bothered refilling any drinks),and the food was below average at best. I ordered the turkey wrap and a bowl of french onion soup. The wrap consisted of 2 thin slices of turkey, slice of lettuce, and a dab of guacamole. Not worth the 5.95 I paid for it. The soup arrived and looked wonderful until you took a mouthful, and it tasted like worchestire sauce...terrible.
As well, I was overcharged for a child's lunch, when I politely informed the waitress that the menu stated a different price, she argued that it was supposed to be the price charged because they had changed it on the dinner menu.....I think she was upset that I sent the soup back.
My reccomendation: Try someplace else for lunch, there are too many other establishments with Great Food and Great Service to even bother.
I go there for lunch during the week all the time. The service is good, the food is good and a little unusual - wraps, soups, desserts. They can be a little pricey but it's worth it. If it's a nice day, be sure to grab a seat outside by the tracks!
Wonderful atmosphere. Very friendly service waitress made wonderful suggestions. Got there Friday night around 5:30 were the only ones there but it filled up quickly. Seafood fresh and unusal like barbeque salmon. Try Mushroom Scalapeni. Desserts were delicious save room.
