Barley Creek Brewing Company

Description

Located in a 1800's farm house that was transformed in brewery/restaurant/bar, with a game room, lounge area - where the customers can see the brewery processes - live music and other attractions, Barley Creek Brewing Company can be a good option for a casual and fun night with a group of friends, and opens daily offering American food. Check out our hot new Onyx Bar room, attached to the main dining room. One day we were sitting on the outdoor deck and it got really, really cold. We got to thinking about how we could make it an indoor deck, without losing the outdoor feel. The next thing you know Trip's driving a big rig halfway across the country in a white-out blizzard to pick up some massive garage-door style windows - and the rest is history. The room is enclosed now, but when the weathers nice, we roll open those giant garage door windows for an & outdoor dining experience. The Onyx Bar room is a great place for lunch, dinner or cocktails. You can even book it as your own private playground for a family reunion, rehearsal dinner, or corporate function. Barley Creek was on our list of places to visit when in the Poconos. We were not disapointed. The home brewed beer was execellent, the hostest, waitresses, and bartenders were all very friendly. Overall, it was one of the best places we visted to dine. The food was excellent (great fries and burgers) and well priced. This is a great place to go to relax, have a beer, an affordable meal, and to bring the family. Highly reccommended.

We dined at the Brewery this past weekend and it was yummy! The wings were some of the best I have ever tasted and came in a variety of flavors. The beers were terrific too. Great service and atmosphere. I can't wait to return.

Nice To Visit Once, but...
Don't go and expect a good meal, unless you're gonna get a burger. It's overpriced and the food isn't that good. It's great to grab a beer and burger after skiing or just to hang out for a while.

Went for the Free tour and beer tasting at 12:30. Short informative tour and was impressed with a few of their handcrafted brews. Particularly liked the Rescue IPA and the Oktoberfest was very good as well. Stayed for lunch and the menu had what I wanted. Steak and Cheese (not a Philly Cheese Steak) Steak tips and I went with Cheddar and crumbled blue cheese...special order, but not a problem.....wow. Service was top notch and a bit more attractive than the norm. Did not have room for dessert but had a thing called a Brewkettle Crumble....basically a Sundae in a pint glass, which does not really go well with beer, but it does go well with coffee and Bailey's! Not cheap but the value was there!

Barley Creek- Never Again
By ,
This is a typical Pocono tourist trap, located on the only road up to the Camelback resort complex. As a restaurant, they are abyssmal, portions are average, and quality is mediocre. Seating is mostly on picnic benches, and the atmosphere is hilbilly-trying-to-be-hip. For a brewery, the beer selections are average, with the seasonals being the most interesting.

The stem of the tomato was in my salad, both steaks were overcooked and had no flavor at all and the potato was wrapped in foil which I had to unwrap myself. This would be perfectly fine if the steak dinner costs $12; however when paying $24 per steak I expect it cooked correctly, some flavor to the meat, my potato unwrapped and some garnish or other presentation when plating the meal...I also expect vegetables to be trimmed before serving them. The beer tasted weird too...not sure what it was but the descriptions were definitely NOT accurate Bottom line: skip Barley Creek and go to Texas Roadhouse - its only 8 more miles but the food is so much better...and cheaper!

Good variety on the menu. A little pricy for a large family though.

Family Restaurant? not so much. Attempted to have a late lunch with my family, they were basically empty and it still took 5 minutes for the staff to notice us and to be given a seat-once seated the wait staff never came to our table...multiple staff members looked at us but none came over to table 82. When we asked the busboy clearing the table next to ours where the manager was he said in the managers room and kept wiping the table. When we looked at the bar 3 staff members were standing around chatting...we walked out & will never go there again.
