Knoebel's Groves is AWESOME! It is so affordable. We drive 2 hours to get to it, instead of the 45 minutes to HersheyPark. The lines aren't as long (we go during the week), the pool is huge, and my daughter loves the water slides at the pool!
The food is great and reasonably priced. The Alamo can be a little slow. But you go in for the air conditioning and a sit down meal, right? Don't go in with 5 star expectations. This is a small place w/ seasonal help. But the food we've had has always been good. Sometimes it takes a little longer than we'd like. Oh well. No time clock when you're on vacation.
The campground: at Knoebel's: can be a little noisy. You've come to an amusement park. Get over it!
Lake Glory: Camped there at the beginning of August. Nice. Removed from the park, which is nice to keep kiddos calm. A little more room between spaces. Restrooms are a little cleaner, but there are less campers per bathroom since Lake Glory has full hookups. Less Shade than the park campground. Will go back there again if with my girl friend and her family. If just my family, like to be at the park b/c we park in the shady-ness w/ the pop-up so the restrooms are closer.
Overall: An awesome park. Free admission, pay as you go rides or one price handstamp, Bargain Nights Wed and Fri, Free parking, Good food at fair prices - not blown up like HersheyPark, huge pool w/ minimal fee for entrance. Campgrounds are close (one within walking distance, one 4 miles away w/ free shuttle). We will return yearly!
What isn't there to love about Knoebels?I'm in my 30's and always loved this park since I was young. Every single year there is always something to look forward to. New Rides,Venues, Good Entertainment,Games for all ages,Love the wooded area aspect. You can sit under a tree anywhere in the park or by the creek and watch the fish or ducks swim by which is relaxing and refreshing.
Doesn't COST A CENT for admission or parking.. Ample picnic spaces..I'm excited to go back there again this summer..
We have two children, 11 and 9, who typically do not ride a huge amount of rides at most amusement parks. At Knoebels they rode more and it cost us less than 1 adult admission to most Amusement Parks! The food also was great and very reasonable with lots of area for groups to bring food and picnic instead if they wished. By far the most family friendly Amusement Park my family has ever visited!
Most amazing park ever! It is *not* a Busch Gardens or Cedar Point. If you're looking for heart-stopping coasters, go elsewhere. They have two really good wooden coasters and too many other rides to count. This is the most family-friendly park I know of. Free admission, so if you don't want to ride the rides with the kids, you don't pay. There are other things to do, I really enjoyed the carousel museum and coal mining museum... way above my expectations. Great food, too, at a decent price. They had good shows, unfortunately a couple of them were at the same time so I couldn't see both. We didn't use the pool or water slides (didn't dress for it) but maybe next time!
It has many rides... from water to coasters. There is something for everyone! Many kiddie rides as well, and that was great for my 4yr old. It is clean, and seemed well taken care of. My kids loved it, and so did my husband... he was like a 10yr old with the rides lol. We would def. go back!
