Foxes is a very nice place to eat any meal of the day. The food is always excellant, the waitresses are very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is always nice. I recommend Foxes to all people that ask for a place to eat and also take visiling friends and relatives here.
I went up to fox s for a family visit last sunday and was impressed with how much it has changed since I last ate here a few years ago. First and foremost my wife and I really enjoyed the piano music - keep it up Mr. Pianoman! The food was good but it took a long time as the restaurant was packed. Either way we ll be returning soon to here some more great music!
I have eaten here many times and no experience is ever the same. Was there once with a group of 20 (we had reservations) and the service was fantastic! Was there another time with my mother and it took over 45 minutes to get cheeseburgers. The wait staff is sometimes very freindly and other times just plain rude. The portions are great and the cost is reasonable and I do like the food. I guess that is why I am willing to put up with bad service and rude staff on occasion. The piano guy is always friendly but VERY annoying......he needs to go!
Boy! You would think I would have learned after the first bad experience at your restaurant, but I guess I gave you all the benefit of the doubt that your service and wait staff would be better and a little more professional by now. BIG mistake on my part. Your hostess is not a nice girl at all. How and why would you want such a girl working for you. She is the first person you are presented with upon comin in the door. She is just awful. After being seated and placing my arm in something very sticky...I asked her to bring us a cloth. Without speaking a word, she left and returned with a cloth. She handed it to my daughter, who cleaned off the table, and then I used it to wipe off my arm. Your fine hostess then grabbed the cloth from my hand, and proceeded to walk away...but not before rolling her eyes, and giving us a nasty look. After speaking a few choice words to her, we all got up and left. We walked up the street to The Dutch Haven and had a wonderful meal/experience. Shame on Fox's. I will NEVER again give your restaurant the benefit of the doubt. I will never step foot in your restaurant again.
Been here twice. First time was with my family (4 of us). Service was unremarkable but not terrible. The food was good and portions were decent. My mother had spaghetti as part of her meal and it was very overcooked (think bad cafeteria food) since the rest of the meal was good it was not mentioned until our check was brought. She just mentioned to the waitress that could she please mention to the chef that the pasta was overcooked, though the rest was nice.
The second time it was me and my brother. We were seated promptly. Drinks took a while to be ordered and delivered but I reasoned that this was because it was a busy Friday evening. Finally we placed our meal orders. It took 45+ minutes for a burger (plain) and a pasta dish. Our waitress was terrible; she was hardly seen in the dining room or always rushing past us. (reason why I couldn't flag her down) It took her 20 plus minutes to notice my brother needed a drink refill and she didn't bother refilling mine. At one point while we were waiting for our food (and more drinks) I saw her standing behind the counter chatting and laughing with another server. Once our food finally came it was unimpressive. Again, the pasta was overcooked. Should have learned my lesson the first time. Will not be returning.
We have been going to this eatery many times and always spoke well of the food / service. On 04/29/2011 the rolls were microwaved to heat them with the butter packs. Rolls were dough balls and poured the butter on the dough. Fish was triangle shaped and about 2x3, smaller than McDonalds, with a small scoop of mac & cheese. This was our meal not an extra, due to fish day. We are afraid to waste our money again, the staff did not care why should anyone care. Congrats to the music man You are always polite and well dressed with nice music. I'm also not afraid to identify myself cause it's the truth.
I been to Fox's several times and one night our family of four went to eat and we sat there and sat there and sat there. They were taking care of people that came in after us. Taking there drink orders. etc. So they never approached us for drinks or anything else. So we got up and left and went to the Texas in town and they never said a word. Another night we went in there and I told them that there was going to be five of us. She said well it is going to be about twenty minutes because we don't have a table for you and we have several reservations coming in. There were plenty of empty tables that they could have put together for use. The upstairs area was empty. She proceeded to seat people that came in after us because there were only two people. So we patiently waited. Then three people came in to be seated and she seated them right away also. So tell me why would you seat 2 people and then 3 more people before use when they could have put those two tables together for us. Of course we left again as they watched us leave. Not sure if I will go back or NOT! They give out $10.00 coupons to get people there but they really need to work on there service and also get rid of the piano player. It is very annoying.
We live in Williamsport, but Fox's is a nice place to visit. Good food and piano dinner music are always a real treat for the evening out. Some nights the restaurant can get busy though and we've had to wait for more than 15 minutes so I'd recommend making reservations ahead of time.
I eat at Fox's Restaurant weekly and have always recieved excellent service. The waitstaff are courteous and friendly. Fox's atmosphere is semi-casual and family-welcoming. I usually eat at a booth or the bar, which are more private. Fox's even has a piano player perform music during dinner hours - I can't even think of any other restaurant that offers this - very enjoyable! As an avid restaurant-goer, I submit that there exist few other restaurants in the area which offer such great service and atmosphere for such a reasonable price!
I've eaten here a handful of times and have yet to be impressed by the food or service. The quality of food leaves a lot to be desired given the prices being charged and, unless the staff knows you personally, expect to feel like a stranger who is rudely interrupting your server if you need anything like a refill, extra napkins, etc.
