Belvedere Inn, Lancaster

Yummy food, but don't try the kangaroo. It seemed like road-kill. The upstairs bar is very cool, the upstairs deck for dining is also great. A glass of wine is more expensive here than most places in Lancaster and not any better. Cool place, nice atmosphere but you'll pay for it.

I used to love Bellvedere until I became a vegetarian. I dined there this past week and had an awful experience. First, I was seated at a table with direct sunlight in one of my friend's eyes. We asked politely to switch to the open table right next to us, but we told that a reservation was coming in for it. When I asked if the customers has actually requested that specific table, I was told "Yes" with attitude. I know for a fact that they did not request that table because on the way out I politely asked them and was given a puzzled look and "no we did not." The host was rude and treated us very poorly. I am a vegetarian and the lunch menu had ONE item on it without meat which was mac and cheese. I asked if I could see the dinner menu because there were no options for me and was told "No this is all we have." I said that there was a salad on the dinner menu without meat and wondered if I could have that one and the waitress said "No, none of those items are ready." The salad literally had lettuce, pears, and cheese on it, all of which one would think would always be on hand. The food is usually good here, but after this experience, I will not be going back.

great place to meet friends and make new ones

The Belvedere is one of those places that once you discover it you can't believe you waited so long to try it out. The menu is chock full of items that would please any palate and will not cause your wallet to scream for help! After dinner, simply slip upstairs to Crazy Shirley's and you will simply be amazed. Great jazz music is played nearly nightly and the caliber of the musicians is such a pleasant surprise. Its downtown location isn't the world's greatest for parking on site is the only drawback on a busy night.

I love this restaurant!! We always eat upstairs in Crazy Shirley's. Their food is amazing, their grilled ceasar salads are out of this world. The Chicken Tuscany is delicious and reasonably priced compared to some of their higher priced items. Parking is tough since there's no parking lot, we usually park on Queen Street. And you should make reservations since they are usually crowded. PROS: Personable wait staff CONS: Crazy Shirley's not open every night
