Left Bank Restaurant & Bar, York

I ate here recently for the first time. All in all it was a pretty good meal nothing great, but nothing to complain about either. I did enjoy the extra touch with the books but then again there is the hassle of parking. I would give it a second shot in the future but wouldn't go out of my way to return.

1st review: great dinner: 7/12/07 had a perfect dinner. great service, love the decor, food was great and so was the martini bar and wine selection. very nice atmsophere love it. This place rated #1 past 3 years with central penn magazine :) Cant go wrong for romantic or business dinner. Updated: We have since been there 3 more times. The service and food has not been as good as the first time. Last time, I ordered a meal and then saw someone else's food come out. What I saw, looked better then what i had ordered, so I tried to find my waitress to change my order. She was no where to be seen, and when she finally came back, she said it was too late to change it. I was a pretty unhappy. Had she been where she should have been, it would not have been an issue and when I am paying $150+ for dinner, if I want to change my order, I should be able to. So, I haven't been back. Too expensive for a bad dining experience. Additionally, the meal that i got was really lackluster. So we have been traveling to Baltimore for fine dining instead.

Unbelievable! We recently moved to the area and we were looking for great place to relax and have a nice meal. We found The Left Bank and were not disappointed. The bar is amazing with modern decor and great selections but the dining area and the food are off the charts. I had the crab cake dinner- Excellent! The wine selection at dinner has a nice range also.

The last day of my Senior Seminar class was held here. On thing about me is that I LOVE places with a charm that you have to invent. The bookshelf walls, the glasses, the cutlery, the FOOD, the service. It was a feast for the senses. And then after my professor left, I hit the bar. The tender was awesome and wasn't afraid to invent. It was quiet. A great getaway for a couple. Bring your money, though. It's not the mose inexpensive, but every bite is worth it. TRUST ME. I'm picky about how food tastes! The Left Bank hit every mark

Wow - they have it all: atmosphere, great food, excellent service. And, the desserts? Make sure you leave room!

Up there with the better restaurants that I've been to in major cities. Trendy atmosphere, great service, an exciting collection of ecletic tastes, a good wine selection. Our associate from Hong Kong liked your sashimi-like appetizer so much that he ordered two more for the table!
