La Bella Italia is a favorite of the Rites of Spring Festival!
Held every May in Gettysburg, ROS is a 3-day music festival attended by 600-800 musicians & fans. We have had terrible experiences with nearly every restaurant in Gettysburg trying to get large groups fed in a 2-hour window between events. This year I contacted La Bella Italia and worked with the manager Bobby who assured me that a group of 20 people could get in at 7:00 PM and would be done eating & out the door 1 hour after ordering. Right down to the minute he kept his promise! The food was excellent, the servers were fantastic & attentive, and we were able to enjoy ourselves without rushing to get back to our show on time.
We will definitely be recommending La Bella Italia and will be back in May 2013!
My wife and I spent our honeymoon in Gettysburg, The 1st meal we ate there was at LA Bella Italia, we had planed to eat at several different places while there but the food was so good that we wound up eating all three dinners there.
The staff is nice, the service is fast, and the food is awsome,(the fresh baked bread alone is worth it), from portion size to price.
I will plan on visiting this place atleast once every ntime we go to Gettysburg
My wife and I recently went to La Bella Italia for dinner and it was one of the best meals we had in ages. We both ordered the Chicken Francese, which comes with 2 nice size batter dipped chicken breasts in a lemon butter sauce, with a side of pasta, salad and plenty of fresh bread. A very good meal (with plenty to take home for left-overs) at a very reasonable price . . . and the service was good, too. We will definitely frequent this place again.
I cannot say enough about this wonderful restaurant. The food, the staff, and the atmosphere were top notch. The oil/spices and bread were out of this world. We had a crab and corn soup that was delicious. My son had ravioli which he said were as good as any he's had. My wife said that the stuffed manicotti was very good, and she had enough to take home another meal's worth. I had some of the best seafood and pasta. There were several each of shrimp, mussels, clams, and calamari. The prices were more than reasonable especially when you take in the friendly staff, atmosphere, and the portions. This place is a winner. Enjoy.
I went there on a trip back home to va, on july 12th and i took my left over pizza home and what to my surprise was a tiny tiny baby roach , when i called the manager on that day , i was told that maybe the roach came from my car, that they wanted to say there was no bugs there, when in fact i was there and there was dead flys up on the window sil and also a bunch of flys flying around in there just hanging around in the dining room, but i am mad to the fact i was told that the roach could have came from my car !
i dont have roaches in my car or in my house !!! this store does !
We eat at LaBella Italia fairly often. It has become one of our favorite restaurants. They have the best Baked Ziti or try the Pesto pizza. They are delicious. The Chicken Marsalla is one of my favorites, order the pasta under the chicken with the same sauce as the dish instead of on the side with tomato sauce and they will accomodate you. It is so much better that way. Or if you like garlic, get the garlic and oil on your pasta, Wow. The Chicken Picata is also wonderful, it is my wifes favorite. Bring a bottle of wine or buy beer there. This is an incredible place to eat at a great value!
My husband, daughter, her 2 college friends and I dined here in late August. We are from northern NJ loaded with great family Italian restaurants. This stacks up very well against the ones from home. Everyone's meal was excellent and well presented. Despite the crowd, and a new waiter, service was good. Enjoyed the experience and will dine there again.
Disappointing. Having read the other reviews, we expected an excellent experience. While the food presentation was very nice, the food was delivered to the table cold. The pasta was delivered 5 minutes before the entree... and the entire time taken to have the meal delivered was very slow. This was not a busy night, so there didn't seem to be any reason for the lengthy wait for our meal. The calzone was overly stuffed with too much cheese and we had to ask for marinara. The veal marsala was served cold and the pasta side was extremely bland. The server was pleasant enough, but not really at the top of his game.
We won't be coming back.
