I stopped in at the KFC on Steinwehr for a quick lunch while in Gettysburg. There were very few people in the dining room, in spite of it being in the middle of the lunch hour. Only a few people were in line, so we got our order in quite quickly. That's when things began to go bad. After waiting for quite some time for the food, another patron returned his food, saying the order was wrong. It turns out they gave him my order. Since he had opened it, they couldn't give it to me, so they had to remake both orders. Unfortunately they were out of Original Recipe chicken.
In the middle of lunch, with a small crowd, they ran out of Original Recipe. They tried to give us both extra crispy, but we both opted for the chicken we had ordered in the first place.
How does KFC run out of chicken in the middle of lunch? Do they not realize that people will be coming in for chicken around meal time? We only dealt with the girl who took our order. At no time did the manager speak with us or apologize. The girl we spoke to seemed offended that we didn't want to substitute for whatever they had on hand, as if it was our fault for insisting on what we ordered.
I gave two stars, because when the chicken eventually came it was hot and very tasty.
