Good food, good atmosphere! I like to go there for dinners or just for a drink at the end of a workweek..

Was there the other night with some girlfriends, really we just wanted a place to relax and have a good time. The food was incredible and the service was fun and caring. And by caring I mean that I (being the ditz that I am at times) spilled some wine on my shirt and one of the waitresses helped me get it out with her personal TIDE stick..who else would do that?! We all had sooo much fun and will def be back sooner than later. Oh and you HAVE to try either the mojito or the espresso martini...they are to DIE for! Keep up the good work Firehousians!

Firehouse Restaurant & Bar
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/20/08
This is a great restaurant located in a renovated firehouse. I've had dinner here on many occasions and the food is consistently fresh and delicious. There is a bar on the first floor and a larger dining area on the second floor. Interesting decor, too.

Firehouse Restaurant & Bar

This restaurant is located in the old Hope Station Fire Department and the food is unique and delicious. There is lots of old fire memorabilia lining the walls. I recommend the trout wrapped and baked in sea salt. Delicious!

I've been to the Firehouse numerous times. The waitress staff are always UNPLEASANT and are always rushing around but not doing anything. There is NO salt & pepper on any of the tables which makes no sense to me cause you have to ask for it and then by the time it comes, your food is cold. The crab cakes are the best I have ever had in my life....I have noticed that they have gotten smaller in size which is disappointing. They have the best sweet potato fries! Yummy! Creme Brule for dessert is always good WHEN they have it....the past 3 times they were out of it....:( The Hook & Ladder is also a good choice....ribs & lobster tail. They have really good earth baked bread but it comes not sliced and they don't give you a knife....makes no sense. I've had it come out not hot and it wasn't very good. They also charge extra for a salad which most restaurants come with a salad, so if you add it, your meal becomes a bit pricey! Not a place for kids...no kids menu. It's also very loud in there and the parking is VERY LIMITED.

Great place!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/9/07
My husband and I loved our experience. The atmosphere was unlike any other restaurant in Harrisburg. Very unique. We were greeted by a very friendly host, which we later understood was the owner. We were seated promptly and everything took off from there. Our server was attentive and friendly. Our food arrived in a timely fashion and was excellent. I think they have the best ceaser salads around. My husband loved his Firehouse Pasta. My stuffed chicken was perfect. For dessert, the chocolate peanut butter cake and the crème Brule was a perfect ending to a perfect meal. Also the drinks were very tasty. My husband had the firehouse bloody mary, which he said was spicy, but just how he liked it. I had the black martini, which everyone should try. All in all, a great experience. We will definitely return.

Melt in Your Mouth Good
By A Guest, 9/12/06
It was such a cute place...great for those who love anything to do with direfighting/fire trucks. The food was sooooo amazing! The mini loaf of bread sold me instantly...and I dont usually eat bread! I ordered the prime rib dinner....it was absolutely delicious. A little pricey though....not a weekly restaurant...maybe a special occassion.

Get a little good with the bad
By Marisa, 3/23/06
This is very close to my house and that along with the fact my husband LOVES their calamari and steak salad brings us in every once in a while. Firstly, ambiance - cool and not unlike many of the downtown venues; medium lit, loud bar in the front of the restaurant, always busy, big booths which are always nice, fast service... Although, despite all this - the prices are a bit high for what you get - the crab cake sandwich is under seasoned, on dry day old bread, no happy hour specials, $1.50 soft drinks w/out free refills which was a nice surprise, and for the most part - the value just isnt there when it comes to what is served. The service is good, however again, for the price, your appetizer comes out, and then your dinner is pushed in front of you 3 minutes later. I recommend asking to order dinner after youve gotten at least half way through your wings. Aside from that - there are some excellent items on the menu - like the salad I mentioned before - large, great tasting, and only $10! All in all, I give it a 7/10 from downtown standards.
