Champions Sports Bar, Highspire

Went there for happy hour was there for over an hour then some jersey shore wanna be bartender took over. After waiting on us for 15 min after he asked me to turn my hat around. I asked him, seriously, in a sportsbar? He said you'r not allowed to have a hat on backwards. Other friends have told me he had a smart mouth to him. No wonder they need the bouncers to protect this insecure boy. The food is just OK, but the service is horrible.

Could possibly be an even worse bar....oh wait it is worse than the blue room in middletown. The only thing, and only thing champions has is some hot servers sometimes. Half the time it's hard as hell just to get a drink, even with two worthless bartenders working. Oh hey, i'm clearly way over 21 but why not be a dick and card me anyway?...then ask for a cover for some awful band or dj whereas...for example no bar even downtown will ask for a cover unless it's the hardware bar...and we all know what kind of people go there. Why does this bar have like 8 bouncers...really? Is there that much violence going on in this little bar, now you know where your cover charge goes...to these guys who stare at you literally all night because they get paid to sit around or walk around and check on everyone eventhough there's no need for more than say 1 bouncer...seriously. Be forewarned, champions is a shady bar basically, and they dont care about serving you right, just your money. Oh and if you're clearly intoxicated, about to fall over, get a six pack to go because i've seen them sell them to people in there like that dozens of times.

Held our 40th Class reunion here in Oct. 08' The food was great and prices were reasonable. The staff were extremely helpful in preparations beforehand, and the back room was devoted to our event and set up was great. The staff even had set up the necessary configuration for a power point presentation using a laptop for displaying onto the big screen in the room. There was no picture distortion, nor loss of sound quality. I would highly recommend Champions if you are planning an event, and need a facilty that is not overpriced, and is very helpful during the planning stages.

As others say, bad food, bad service, and high prices. Ordered soup and salad one night for takeout, after carding me to go in and pick up food that they wouldn't bring out, it ended up being 45 minute wait. This was with a 20min pre-order. Plus it was terrible for something as simple as soup and salad. If your not drunk, then you probably won't like this place.

Newly renovated, new servers, new menu, great food, great service, great prices! I HIGHLY recommend it!

If you want bad service and bad food head hear. Food was cold plus the table next to me also said the same. It took 65 mins for my meal. I could make it in 20 mins.
