Ate at the Inn for seafood fest on Friday night...I had the apricot salmon and my significant other picked the ceasar shrimp & scallop pasta. Both were very good and the 16oz homade sangria was the best. Will definetly return...price was resonable....$18
Looking at the vast menu we were excited at all of the selections. The prices were quite expensive (like 30 bucks for chicken, 40-50 dollars for steak) but for a special night out we were willing to splurge. Once the food arrived we were less than thrilled. The food was horrible. For the price we expected much more. I have had better meals at Sheetz gas station. The food looked as if it came from the microwave. Neither of us are picky eaters, but we both disliked our meals. There are much better places to eat in Lebanon. Don't let the fancy building fool you.
I could not have been more disappointed. I took my wife there for a special night out several months ago. The look and the feel of the place initially gave me high hopes, we were both very excited as we had been looking forward to trying Inn 422 for some time.
The appetizer we shared (bacon wrapped scallions) was great, although I suspect that the accompanying dipping sauces came out of a bottle. I ordered the rib eye - for $40 dollars; I wrongly assumed that a steak costing this much in mostly rural PA would be just about the best thing I had ever tasted... It was extremely under-seasoned and tough, I must say that I have had better steaks at some of the mass eatery chains you find in the mall. Now, I have had good steaks around this great country of ours, and even in a major metropolitan steak house, I have rarely paid this much and most certainly received a much better product.
Also, as a side, the silverware was cheap, something you might find at a diner. I came away with the feellng as though the owners were pricing the food to pay the bills and not because the dining experience deserved it.
My parents and sister did have brunch there and said it was amazing. Perhaps we will try it again after the sting of this experience goes away, but I will be hard pressed to go for dinner again.
The service was excellent, the rooms were very nice, the price was right. The food was top notch, although a little expensive, but worth it. If you live in the lebanon, lancaster, or surounding areas this is a great place for some alone time with that special someone. If you are not from the area it is a fair priced B $ B and is near alot of central Pa attractions, the building itself is an attraction, and the historic story behind it is something to read. very, very nice place.
