FENICCIS OF HERSHEY, Hershey

Sorry you don't have a rate for less than 1 Star...this by far was the worst food we've ever eaten...have to say the salads were the real highlight of the meal....only the pizza was barely passable....the chicken parm was smothered in the worst overcooked, raw tomato paste-like sauce w/absolutely no flavor, just way over simmered....the shrimp scampi was shrimp in lemon juice...again no flavor...and the chicken piccata should be changed to chicken w/capers...they overpowered the dish way too much....we gauged our choice by the reviews...and boy were we disappointed.....I don't know what the standards of Italian food are in PA but they certainly don't know good Italian food...seems to me this restaurant started sooo many yrs ago was probably very good then...but the current owners should hire a REAL CHEF....We also have to mention our waitress who was by far the worst...it was so bad that the Manager had to chip in and help w/this particular waitress' 4 tables....incredible...we watched the other staff and they were very capable...and efficient...We can only suggest that people looking for Good food ...go somewhere else...sorry ....the food at Olive Garden (which is not the greatest) would have been more authenticaly Italian than Fenicci's.

The food was very delicious, and the service was great. I really enjoyed it!

Ate on a Monday nite and wasn't impressed on the food at all. Especially when the witress ordered me the wrong food. For a Italian rest. the food was bland. Pasta had no favorite. Not impressed at all with the place. Bread was stale with the crab dip. I do hope the service gets more help too. Poor witress was running around like crazy, did even come around to check if everything was OK. Sorry won't tell my freinds about the place in a good way.

What a great place. My boyfriend and I and my two son's went there on our way back to Vermont. The food was excellent and the service was wonderful. Our waitress Lisa(who is also from Vermont)was helpful in making recommendations for wine, and for teen pleasing meals. We didn't walk away hungry either. This was one of the worst restaurants I've eaten at in a long time, the service was poor and the food was sub par. The italian food I get when I used to go to Olive Garden as a kid was more authentic then what they served. We got the bruschetta, and the bread was stale and the cold, the calamari actually had nearly 2 whole squids deep-fried and the amount of calamri they gave us was hardly adequate given the price. My wife literally laughed out loud when she saw the nearly full squid sitting on the plate. The only thing that was good was the water, avoid this restaurant!! Maybe it was good years ago when people didn't know what Italian food is supposed to taste like, this is definitly not it.

We ate here on New Year's Eve while on a vacation in Hershey. During a tour of the Hershey Story, we walked outside and the aroma of this place filled the air! We didn't have a dinner reservation but they fit our large party in within just minutes. My husband ate the pound of lasagna, and received a certificate for finishing it....he could have ate 3!!! I had the Chesapeak Bay Manicotti and have craved it since we got back home to Alabama. Great food, great people, great town! I would definitely go back!

Excellent pastas! Good sized portions, but also good sized prices. There are other menu items that are easier on the budget (sandwiches, pizzas, stromboli), we'll be returning to try them, but for this evening we were drawn to one of the many seafood pastas . . . fantastic, great seafood, great sauces! The service was slow, but other than that, a nice night out in Hershey.

This was our first visit to Fenicci's and it was really a great place. The atmosphere, service and food were all outstanding. The owner, Phil G. has really got a great place here. He stopped by our table and talked to us for a minute. Very nice guy. I think he used to own a restaurant in New York. My husband had the Veal Parmesan and the veal was melt-in-your-mouth good. I had their Seafood dish with fettuccini and it was really great also.

I do not have one negative comment to share about Fenicci's of Hershey. The first time I was there I was impressed enough to spread the news, since that time friends have enjoyed their dining experiences and thanked me. I must add that I am from the Lancaster area, which has many well known restaurants, but none of the Italian restaurants have quite measured up to my expectation, so traveling to Hershey is well worth the time. The customer service standard is way above average ~ from Phil (owner), Cynthia (assistant manager, I think) and Suzie, who is a wonderful server. I brought a party of ten several days ago and commend Suzie and Cynthia for seeing that we were well taken care of. I should mention that the restaurant was very busy when we were there; I believe every table and booth were occupied; definitely make a reservation. Another review mentioned the Veal Parmesan which Suzie suggested to me when I was having difficulty selecting my entree, so glad she did as it was fabulous. Growing up in Hershey I had my very first taste of pizza at DeAngelis' (previous owners) so stepping thru the door is a bit nostalgic; however, Fenicci's cuisine is much improved but I'm happy the pizza is exactly as I remember from the '50's. I will return on a regular basis and wish Phil and staff continued success. Forgot to mention...I am going back in a few days to enjoy dinner before a Josh Groban concert at the Giant Center!
