Seoul Garden Korean Restaurant, State College

Great Korean food with excellent side dishes. The food is authentic enough for my Korean mother, who ate there frequently when she was not allowed to cook at home. My favorite is the Kalbi, which, of course, is not as good as what mom used to make, but is still consistently good. The Korean-style sweet & sour pork and jajangmyun is reminiscent of my year in Seoul. Warning -- those looking for Korean food in a hurry should probably try somewhere else.

I thought the food was pretty good, especially their side dishes. However, the wait time for dishes is extremely slow. They also usually have only one waiter to serve the entire restaurant. So it is common that he/she forgets to bring water, menus to the table. Also, don't buy stuff from the korean grocery store upstairs from the restaurant. (which is open by the same owner). My roommate once went there and bought a bag of frozen dumplings. It turned out the expiration date passed already. (She bought it in September and the expiration date was in July). I went back and told the owner. Her attitude was indifferent and told me she can only refund me if we brought the dumplings back. but we already throw it out and couldn't refund. Terrible.
