Hoss's Steak & Sea House, Altoona

Hoss's is a fully non-smoking resturaunt, which is great. There are a lot of great choices for steaks, seafood and on the salad bar, the services is hit-and-miss depending on which one of the resturaunts you go to and the time of day...and the last few times I had eaten there I felt ill afterward.

the food is only average, and way over priced. the amiance stinks. everything is clean and respectable, but they have 2 distinct seperate sides to every restaurant, and they can't seperate families from people that don't want to hear people's kids screaming. some people just want a quiet dinner, and I request this, and they can't accomedate me. however, they do have a fairly extensive salad bar that is well stocked, and relatively good. by far, the salad bar is the best value of this restaurant.

I love the food at Hoss's. They do get very busy at times, so the best time to go would be around 4pm. You don't have to wait and the salad bar is not crowded at that time. The staff is nice and the food is excellent!
