Danny's Restaurant & Lounge, Erie

We have lived in Erie for a little over 3 years and I am now regretting taking so long to try Danny's out. Everything was superb. My salmon was incredible with a sweet but subtle glaze that didn't interfere with the naturally great taste of the salmon. My wife equally enjoyed her scrod. I asked the waiter to recommend a wine to go with the salmon and was brought the smoothest pinot grigio I have ever had. For dessert we shared a piece of cheesecake (I think creme brulee) that made you slowly savor each and every delicious bite. Even the coffee brought accolades. The worst we can say is that the salad was a bit ho hum being garden variety (sorry) iceberg lettuce with not much taste. But to its credit it was very fresh and crisp. Choose your favorite dressing and it should be fine. We were also impressed by the Cheers like ambiance with many friends gathering around the small bar enjoying each others company. Indeed the entire dining area is on the small side so be sure to make reservations.
