High end dining at its best! I absolutly enjoy my visits to Pufferbelly. Atmosphere is warm and staff is incredible. The quality of food is worth every dime. Sunday Brunch is a must! If you haven't visited Pufferbelly's brunch... do so soon and you wont be disappointed! Parking can be difficult, but the quality of your visit is worth the minor inconvenience.

PUFFERBELLY RESTAURANT
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/13/08
Pufferbelly's is my favorite restaurant. The menu is varied and i have never been disappointed in anything I have had there. They simply have the best French Onion Soup I have had anywhere in the US or Europe. The peanut butter pie, lasagna roll ups and the homemade salad dressings are to die for. The atmosphere is such that you feel comfortable in evening clothes or blue jeans. It is casual and elegant all at once. The staff is friendly and accomodating. For all the animal lovers out there, the owners are animal people and are very active in animal charity. They even took part in the animal rescue after Katrina struck a few years ago. Pufferbelly's has been around for decades, with good reason.

Love the Pufferbelly!!! My husband proposed to me there and we go every year on that date... the food is outstanding. Gotta try the croissant/turkey sandwich and then some peanut butter pie. YUMMMM.

Poor quality of food and unfriendly hostess. The salad was just awful. It tasted and looked days old. The hamburger and fries were just average. The wait time for the food was very long. I was extremely disappointed and would not recommend this place to anyone. I will not eat there again. The waiter was ok.

Eat dessert first!
By Rowan, 9/6/06
Pufferbelly is a good, solid American cuisine restaurant with a great atmosphere. A nice selection of appetizers which could be a meal for lighter appetites. Good pasta and steak. But the real treat for me is their dessert selection, which is homey and often "a la mode". Don't leave without ordering their Chocolate Snowball- a decadent concoction that is heavier than mousse, lighter than fudge, denser than sin and covered in whipped cream. You will probably need a friend to help you finish it- it's that rich.

Lunch Downtown? Why Not Pufferbelly?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/05
This restaurant is beautiful as the old firehouse is made into a yummy restaurant. Dark wood booths and tables dot the main dining room, which sits adjacent to, but well separated from, the bar. The price tag is expensive to suit the salaries of the local fair. The French onion soup is one of the best I've had in Erie -- with lots of onions and ample provolone cheese, not Swiss or Jarlsberg. The menu hosts a nice variety of large salads that come in two sizes. Fresh rolls come with. There is a wide selection of filling yet trendy food. The quesadillas arrived hot, and the veggies were steamed rather than grilled, a healthy change. The vegetable lasagna rollups were delicious, and Southwestern and veggie Greek pizzas boast a "hand-tossed crust." Nothing on the menu would break the bank, but you'll be spending every bit of your $10. Soups run the standard $2.25-$3.50. Appetizers are a bit more, with the hot artichoke dip at $6. Beware as extra toast slices are just that...extra. Sandwiches range from $5.95-$6.95, and most come with a pile of engine-house potatoes. Salads range from $5.50-$7.95 for the large size; $3.50-$5.95 for the half size. The Hearty & Trendy items run from $5.50 for the quesadillas to $6.95 for the pasta. I like Pufferbelly; however, even when they're slow, the service is lacking. The waitresses only come to take your orders and deliver your food, and even then you may not find the same person twice, but for sure you will see the ordering waitress or waitor when it's time to collect the bill. PROS: Great Food CONS: Service is lacking
