This has been my family's favorite restaurant for years. Best Italian food in Uniontown. I'm there every Sunday after church. The bar area has great atmosphere, but the rest of the dining area is kinda cheezy. Its not the most classy restaurant you'll ever eat in, but I promise the best food. The prices are very reasonable. A plate of pasta ranges $5-$8 and it comes with bread, and salad. Daily lunch and dinner speicals are avalible. Lunch is, I believe, $7 and dinner is $9.
GOOD! - Over 50 years ago, Meloni's set the standard for Italian food in the Uniontown area. Decades later, it is still the landmark Italian eatery. If one is looking for Olive Garden ambience and prices, this isn't the place. If one is looking for good sauce, good pasta, daily specials, great service...all at a fair price, then Meloni's is the place to go. In our many visits, we've found only two issues with Meloni's and therefore rate it 4 stars, instead of five stars.
(1) The $12.95 Prime Rib special on Fridays and Saturdays is wonderful. However, be very specific with your server as to how well done you want your prime rib. Rare, Medium rare and Medium does not warrant dark brown, crispy appearance or texture. This happens a little too often...Send it back. The cooks need to be aware that this is unacceptable.
(2) While we can eat well without the O G ambience, the dining room is long overdue for a coat of paint!!
Overall, however, Meloni's is well worth the visit.
