We reserved a table for 6, but 2 of our friends were running late. The servers repeatedly asked us to tell our friends to hurry, even though we explained that there was nothing we could do. The place was half empty, so it isn't as if they needed the table. Even though the service was terrible, they tacked on a mandatory gratuity fee to our check, which they did not deserve. Furthermore, the food was mediocre at best, and overpriced ($20+ for a bit of chicken and mixed vegetables for one).

The food is fine, BUT we (party of 2) sat at the Hibachi Bar - and literally were rushed through the meal as if it was cafeteria style - and after 20-30 minutes from the time we sat down - were asked to move to another location so the seats at the Hibachi could be refilled - I was not expecting the 'drive thru' experience at Japanese restaurant prices - they lost me as a customer....

This place was awesome. No wait to get in. Staff was very friendly. It was the best steak and sushi I ever had. It's a little pricey, but well worth it!

This place has the best Japanese food I have had in Upstate NY. The service is fast and friendly, and very attentive. The owner always checks in partway through my meal to see if we are enjoying everything. It is clean and relaxing, and the sushi is terrific and very pretty! This place is also accustomed to accomodating parties of all sizes. A great experience. I went for lunch yesterday and will be going for dinner today!

Excellent for Ithaca
By ,
The sushi is the most consistent of the 3 current sushi restaurants in Ithaca. The Hibachi grill is delicious and is a lot of fun for a group of friends or a family outing. The owners care A LOT about their customers and the wait staff is very polite, if not fully schooled in the English language. Overall, a pleasant experience and good food for reasonable prices.

Decent food, but service was terrible
By ,
It's been a while since I was there. I decided the last time I went there that I wouldn't go again. The waitress had a lot of trouble trying to figure out what we wanted, then brought us things we didn't order and when we told her about it, she shrugged and told us it was our fault. We got the bill and she had charged us for everything she brough us, including the things we didn't order. I wanted to complain, but the other people I was with didn't want me to cause a scene (!!!), so we paid and left. There's another sushi place in Collegetown on Eddy Street. The sushi there is probably the best in town, but it's really pricey.

Best Sushi in CNY
By ,
The sushi regular is great for starters (except that rubbery piece). The dragon roll is heaven on earth and they actually make it look like a dragon, awesome!!! Bring your own beer/wine. Fried Banana for desert. MUWaa! HAven't tried the Hibachi, but have tried sushi in NYC, Syracuse and Wegmans. This is the best food ever! The atmosphere is great too: no-sound TV to prevent awkward moments of staring into empty space, waiter and hosts always remember you when you come back for a second visit. Calssy and casual. Have fun, I did!
