Incredibly rude, most impolite service I have ever experienced. Placed an order for pickup 1 large pizza and an order of mild wings. When we show up they tell us here is our order one large pepperoni and an order of sweet and tangy wings. I tell the counter staffer that we ordered mild he then inisisted we ordered sweet and tangy, I said no mild he then shows me that it says sweet and tangy on the slip and insists that what was ordered. I said it is not and he looks at someone further back who told him to switch them out with other wings. When we get home to eat them we realize they rinsed the wings and redipped them. I call up and ask to speak with a manager who says they did not and would not do that and that I did not know what I was talking about, he then told me to have a good day and hung up on me.
As a food manager of 20+ years, I am a realistic rater of other establishments. And sadly, while these locally well known names go on Pizza King falls to a poorer standard with time. Service was ok, although a bit grim and unsmiling at times, the manager a young woman was poorly *managing* to say the least. A lot of arguing, and snickering between the people there, and from what I have been told this is nepotism at its worst case. Hopefully the owner reads this and starts a management training program before he ends up with harassment cases against him. The food was ok, nothing to write home about, but for the local value Im sure its great. Varied menu was a plus, just service issues affecting the aesthetics makes it a definite eat out establishment. Prices are on the high side, but its lack of competition Im sure. The Pizza King may live on, but this pizza queen needs to mature some.
This is simply great pizza. Their thick crust pizza is amazing. They really load up the toppings, is not greasy, and has a dough that is buttery crisp on the outside and has a nice chew (not doughy). Their thin crust pizzas are also great, but simply prefer the thick crust. Their chicken wings are also tasty, but (when delivered) can be swimming in a little too much grease. Delivery can sometimes take up to 40-45 minutes on weekends, but they have never gotten our orders wrong and is well worth the wait.
I have purchased pizza from every location hear abouts. I have to say that this is the BEST around. Service is good and they deliver. Sometimes I eat there, sometimes I carry out and other times have them deliver. The quality and service is great any way I get their products.
Give them a call or stop by their location on Main Street and enjoy great pizza the way you want it.
