I am now a 66 year old man and a former Rochester resident now living in Greenville SC. My Dad took our family to Rocky's when Orange Crush and Pee Wee soda was the drink of the times. When I return we MUST make the time to have a meal or two while visiting. Nothing has changed on the food side in years. I laughed as I missed the sound of the toilet flushing and the sound of the wooden bathroom door slaming shut, also missed seeing the black Lab dog lying in the eating area near the tables. Life was so simple back then. Wish Rocky's had a place here in Greenville SC. Nick

Rocky's longevity speaks for it self. I have been going there since about 1970. The food hasn't changed a bit.. Authentic and delicious then as it is now. Always had a meal I would be proud to serve at home ...

I have been going to Rockey's since a child. Now I take my kids. I LOVE this restaurant, cozy, homey feeling. The sauce is to die for. Rigatoni, stuffed shells, and the tripe are my favorite.

An Italian friend of mine brought me to Rocky's for the first time in 1988. I have been going there "EVERY" Thursday ever since for the Homemade Raviolis which are only served on Thursday and Saturday. I do not usually eat at Italian restuarants because no one makes Gravy like my mom. Rocky's is awesome!! I do not go there for the service, but for the food. How many places do you know that RUNS OUT OF FOOD on a daily basis? A must try. Lasagna is good, Ravs are great, Tripe, Rigatoni's, real meatballs (close to mine) and the sausage is great. Soups are good too!

Pretty good food. Off street parking, Very limited menu each day. Place has a ton of character. Service was slow and inaccurate on our visits. My husband and friend got their salad but I didn't, server didn't check on us I had to wave her down to get my salad. We ordered two beers and got the wrong beer. Cheese ravioli was quite good but I thought the sauce could have been a bit thicker and seasoned more. Bread was great. We will have to try Friday night fish fry next time.

What an awesome place!!! I have been going there for 30 years, and the food is as great as it ever was. The prices are great, and the sauce is to die for. You cannot go wrong with any pasta dish they serve. Fish frys are good too. I am told that their tripe is the best around, but I cannot say only because I do not care for tripe. The service is great, and you are made to feel like you are part of the family. RATING: 5 out of 5!

Best tripe, greens & beans, jug wine... the real deal
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/26/09
Only open for lunch, M-Sa, and Friday dinner, I love Rocky's for the Italian food [including the best Martusciello's bread], local color [working class, politicians, and a few paisano], the hands-on friendliness of the owners, and a glass of jug red. Prices and parking for a downtown location are reasonable. Tips: 1. Daily specials include some delish shells stuffed with ricotta, some nice parms [eggplant, etc], good soups, and don't miss getting a sausage link or meatball. 2, This joint is very close to Frontier Field [AAA baseball] and Marina Park [Rhino's soccer]. Stop before an early game. 3. Rocky still works. Say hi to him or son Joe and tell them OJ sent you. 4. Oh yeah, always a daily paper at Rocky's!
