Edibles Restaurant and Bar has been Rochester's best kept secret since 1997. One of Rochester's most cutting edge bistros and martini lounges. We specialize in fresh seafood, flown in daily from Hawaii, local organic produce, grass fed local meats and regular outings to the Rochester Public Market. At night, Edibles turns into a popular lounge bar with all the latest cocktails and martinis giving New York City a run for its money. Edibles is located in the culturally rich and diverse Neighborhood of the Arts only a block from the Memorial Art Gallery , George Eastman House, Craft Company #6 and just two blocks from the Auditorium Theater perfect for dinner before a Broadway show. We are committed to providing our customers with the highest level of service and hope to see you soon.
We made a reservation for 8 pm. We waited 30 minutes for our table. A couple came in without a reservation, and they were given a 30 minute wait time as well – why make a reservation? The host was very ungracious and didn’t even offer a basket of bread while we were waiting. When we sat down, we were told the specials, some of the menu items and the wine were wanted was ALL gone. We then ordered an appetizer of perogies. The waitress came back and said we could only have the dinner size since there were only five perogies left. You’d think they would just bring the dinner size and charge the appetizer price…not at Edibles evidently. We waited a ridiculous amount of time for our salads, and then they totally forgot one of our dinner orders. Three of us finished eating before the last entrée came out, and his side order of potatoes never arrived. When the veggie burger (slightly better than a frozen garden burger) arrived it came on what looked like white wonder bread, not the whole grain roll described on the menu. The waitress did comp the veggie burger so we can give some credit for customer service but it was too little too late. The other food was good, but couldn’t make up for how upset we were with the service. They need to get their act together.
My wife and I went to Edibles for a Birthday dinner. With a 6:30pm reservation it was 7pm before we were seated. The Borscht was as bland and unimaginaative as I have ever had. My wife ordered a Beet Salad for an appetizer it had a canned beets. We had just been at Rooney's and perhaps Rooney's has a higher expectation with it, the the beet salad there was fresh and carmalized. Canned beets .... really.
The meal was a distinct disappointment I had scallops, my wife vegetable struttle, and the meal was barely warm and neither were above average. We went with hopes for a delicioous meal, my advice is think twice before going to Edibles.
Great atmosphere.Small restaurant. Cozy and intimate.Excellent food. Some of the tastiest we've had around the Rochester area. Service was good and the food came out on time. . With appetizers, salad and an entree for two look to spend around $70.00 excluding alcohol. Overall great experience and would definitely go again.
