Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Rochester

The service is awful here. The wait was very long; the hostage was rude and unprofessional. The waitress was in a rush to kick us out of the place we didn’t get a chance to finish our food before the bill was dropped on our table and people were wiping down part of our table as we eat.

a classic bbq place in the center of NY. Has received nation-wide notoriety from appearing on tv on a cooking show. the food is excellent and the service and other customers are very friendly and up for having a good time.

I will have to say I am a big fan of Dinosaur BBQ. love the atmoshere, love the food. I do have to say, the Rochester one does not stand up to the one in Syracause. I know it's the same food, but the service and the actually the food is better in Syracuse. Sorry Rochester, I still love you, but just not as much.

Quality of the food is spotty but good most of the time. The service can be spotty and have good and bad stories. The take out personnel often forgets items and the portions are much smaller than used to be. The bartenders are friendly but some are very forgetful. Last time we were there tried to flag down our bartender because of a missing item. She looked right at us and then went on break without any response. The other bartender stepped up and gave us our missing item when asked. Paid her and left a good tip. Asked her not to share with other bartender.

I loved the atmosphere but was really disappointed with the food. Ribs were cold and chewy and the pulled pork was a little bland. Probably wouldn't go back unless it was just for drinks. The bar was cool.

Have lived in Houston, TX and been exposed to lots of different BBQ. My wife and I frequently go out to eat and like to explore different restuarants. Everyone told me that I had to try Dinosaur. We decided to go to celebrate my son's 18th. I hate to say I was not impressed at all. Famous Dave's is much better. I ordered a plate with three different meats and 2 sides dishes and a small piece of cornbread. The sides I got were FF and BBQ baked beans. The plate was huge and it looked like there was food missing. They would be better served with a smaller plate. Wouldn't look so stingy. The side of beans came in a small paper square. The meats were not memorable at all. Nice waitress, good service, frendly staff, but not worth the prices at all and not very good BBQ.

I've seen many reviews complaining about parking. Is it a business' problem to provide that in a developed downtown area? (Geeze, people!) The Dinosaur is great. The decor is fantastic and the food has so much life to it. Someone has thought their menu over very well. The service is also quite reliable.

Awesome food, great waitstaff! Can't wait to visit again! We even brought our 10 year old son and would do so again regardless of the fact that some people think that the club that calls the restaurant their own is bad. Best group of people we could have dined with!

I love this biker bar atmosphere. Their food is wonderful and worth the long wait. People wait up to an hour or more for this savory, lip smacking, tongue pleasing Bar-b-que. You have to try it at least once!!!

I am not too crazy about Dinosaur, it is just too overhyped. Granted, it is one of the only BBQ joints in the Rochester and Syracuse area. Yankees have only been eating the bbq chicken at the Fire Dept. fundraisers. Maybe it is that people around here just dont know what real BBQ is? Par-cooking and then putting the watered down meat on a gas grill is not BBQ. Hours of drinking beer and smoking a pork, beef, or what have you from 6 am on hard wood is what bbq is. I lived in the deep south for several years and stop at road side stands for bbq, that is where it at, not where you have to make a reservation to eat. I am sorry folks. Not for me!
